Fantastic night with 15 family members for my 30th birthday! We had our own section of the pub and our own waitress for the night who was incredibly helpful. Service from both waitress and bar staff was great and all food/drinks came out in great time without us waiting long. 10/10 for the food from all of us and the portion sizes were spot on and great value for money. Great place if you want somewhere really nice for a special occasion. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Booked a table for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday on Saturday night. Arrived and walked up to the bar. Waited and waited and waited for the two people at the end of the bar to shout over "are you waiting to be served" !! Yes we are. Seated in the restaurant and waited and waited and waited... my husband now getting very fed up. It was not even busy. Finally someone arrived, took our drinks order and left us again for an age before someone else arrived saying sorry, the other girl had left and not told her we were waiting!!!! What?? Food, when it arrived, was lovely but its too late to form a good impression for us. Will not be returning. The whole thing is run by young kids who come across as moody and miserable. Horrible experience.

What an amazing pub. Food was amazing. Great location set in rural location. Lovely outdoor seating area. The menu caters for everyone’s tastes. The staff are really helpful and friendly. I can highly recommend this pub, we can’t wait to go again.

We arrived at the Whittington arms and was greeted with a warm welcome from Calum and taken to our table .We was served by jammie who was polite and informative .The kitchen staff even went to the trouble of piping "happy anniversary in chocolate sauce on my wifes sweet (pudding) plate .A very positive visit.

A lovely evening at here tonight celebrating my Mother-in-law’s 84th Birthday. The restaurant is spacious and vibrant, the team are friendly and accommodating and intend to make your evening special. The food was superb, delicious and very well presented. The deserts were also amazing - could recommend enough. A special thank you to Kim for looking after us and making it extra special with a candle and happy birthday sign in the dessert.

I booked the bar as the restaurant had no availability. When we arrived, I mentioned this to the waitress, she quickly arranged a table for us by the window, which was perfect. Service a little slow to start, but that quickly changed after our drinks order was taken. Perfect service. The food was exceptional. A great restaurant.

We found ourselves with time to spare before checking in to our hotel so we were looking for a late lunch / early dinner. Google suggested the Whittington Arms which was a 10 minute drive away. What a find! The decor is light and airy but quite homely, the lunch menu was a bargain at 2 courses for £18 or 3 for £21. We had the prawns to start which were delicious. I had the cod and chips, the cod was massive and beautifully cooked, light, crispy batter that was not swimming in grease. The waiting staff and bar staff could not have been better with our waitress being worth a special mention as she was so welcoming (unfortunately I didn't get a name). Unfortunately we are not local to the area otherwise this would definitely become somewhere we would visit regularly.

Fantastic food and service. We had a trainee waiter who was very good. The belly pork and scallops was very tasty as was the wifes meal. We will definitely return
