“I was certain I would be giving The Queens full marks – it came highly recommended from a friend and the reviews on here were great. Sure enough, the Sunday Lunch did not disappoint: the best roast beef I’ve had for a long time and plenty of it, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. So far so good. Towards the end of our main course, groups of six or more were seated either side of us, and the waitresses, perhaps understandably, turned all their attention to them. We waited for our plates to be cleared. And waited. And waited. Eventually a waitress came to clear up and we were asked if we’d like to see the dessert menu – we said we would. We waited. And waited. Tired of waiting, we finally decided to go home for cake and coffee and managed to get someone’s attention for long enough to ask for the bill. Yes, large groups of people are important to places like this, but please, don’t forget the couples…”

“We stayed in the gorgeous AirBnB apartment upstairs and we had a few drinks and a meal on our first night. The food was amazing, a really inclusive and varied, interesting menu, all cooked to order. The beer garden is fabulous, and the pub & restaurant are tastefully & sympathetically decorated.The chef patron and partner are a lovely young, enthusiastic couple who bring their worldly charm to this convenient little village pub.I'd recommend eating, drinking and staying here ...we would certainly return.”

“I went here with friends for drinks and we were greeted by a very pleasant and welcoming lady on the bar. We also met the lovely owner who was doing a raffel collection to raise funds for a defibrillator at the pub.The darts board is a nice addition and we had fun playing, and the smoking area is nice too!”
