We visited on a spontaneous decision. The staff were welcoming but clearly it was busier than anticipated for that day as there were not enough staff to customers and so service was somewhat slow. We waited a long time between the main course and ordering dessert. Food was mediocre on the carvery. Only 2/4 meats at the time we went up as they were waiting for replacement joints to be completed for the missing ones. The veg was in a poor state and I didn't fancy eating much of it.

Had breakfast as I was staying at the attached TravelLodge. Even though the attached hotel is dog friendly, the Toby is not. This meant my wife and I had to eat breakfast separately so one of us could stay in the hotel room with the dog. That wasn’t the end of the world but the food was quite bland and stale, not great quality.

Perfect Carvery. All piping hot and fresh. Lovely gent on the carvery deck pointed out which were the vegetarian roast potatoes, which is always a positive and appreciated.Only tiny issue was we were sat by the door and got a really cold draft each time the door opened and the food soon went cold, but overall really enjoyed it.

The lady with pink lips which were unprofessional served us and had great pleasure in informing us she couldn’t sell alcohol before 11am was rude . The hash browns were like rubber and surelyTea/coffee should be complementary if paying £6 for breakfast? Also the waitresses were busy preparing tables but it took 60 minutes to clear our table ?? Appalling will never go againDietary restrictions: XParking: X

We went on a Sunday, mid-morning. Service at the hot plate was slow due to food also being prepared for the roasts later. Big queues with a lot of waiting, not as much variety as I expected. Food was tasty enough. Easy to get breads and drinks on the side, although there was no coffee when we first went up. Overall OK experience. I would probably go elsewhere next time.

Busy pre christmas lunchtime so the queue for the carvery was quite large but all staff seemed to be handling things well. We felt welcomed and the atmosphere in the restaurant was comfortable and relaxed. The food was also great.

The food was lovely but there was confusion about the vegetarian meal and how to order it. Often as a Vege at a cavery you tend to wait while everyone else digs in. The same with GF. A pay and order in advance for these meals would be good so everyone can eat together. The pudding came out in bits as well so hard to eat together. However the food was very lovely, staff did their best and it was very good value for money.Vegetarian options: A variety of options.

Carvery was great value for money. Food was hot and there was a good choice vegetables which were all well stocked and fresh. Que was a little long but it was a busy time of day.Staff were welcoming and friendly. They were also very busy which resulted in a little wait to be greeted on arrival. We were left in peace to complete our meal and leave in our own time. Paying was quick and easy. A good overall experience.Parking: Easy parking on site.

Since you’ve asked, so when we arrive the staff ignored us at first and we when we tried to speak to someone they said they were busy just wait there to be seated. Once we were seated we ordered drinks but no one came back so when the table next to us was paying there bill we asked where our drinks were and if we could order some yorkie wraps. The lady took the order and we had a long wait for the wraps so I when the men’s toilet and around there it was empty quite and plenty of space I thought to my self why and we all crammed round there when there’s all this space? Eventually the wraps came but they weren’t the wraps we ordered I kept mine anyway because I was starving at this point but my wife sent hers back and when hers arrived it was cold and looked as if they had re used the wrap and meat and just added cheese and BBQ. When it come to paying we have a Black Friday deal 50% off all mains but we were told this does not apply to sandwiches. The experience was terrible if I’m completely honest. If was so much better when you could order from your phone to your table.

Not much was great! We arrived at 8pm and taken to our pre-booked table and asked if we wanted a drink. We order drinks and waited 30 - 40 minutes for the drinks to arrive. We then went to the carvery and then to the gravy station where upon the gravy bowls were ALL empty, we had to request the gravy The carvery wasn't too busy and there appeared to be plenty of staff around. Also, there were teenage children racing round in the restaurant after each other and no member of staff challenged them! All in all not a good experience at Toby Carvery.Parking: Parking was easy as the carver wasn't full

We came for a double birthday meal yesterday evening and the young lady staff member was amazing at taking our groups orders of drinks, and took our cake to the back to keep it cool & safe, even presented it to us when we were ready singing happy birthday. The food was delicious and plenty was eaten and plenty taken home in provided boxes for the overly "eyes bigger than their bellies" ?Thank you very much for making a 50th and 16th Birthday meal, very special:)

We run a local charity and wanted to take our volunteers out for a Christmas meal to thank them for all their hardwork and efforts throughout the year. We decided to book the Carvery and right from the initial phonecalls they couldn't be more accomodating for us even though there were 30 in our party. When we arrived we were met and seated by our server Laura who was not only kind and friendly, she was also able to help us with any issues we had. We had a fantastic meal, in a brilliant setting and we all had a wonderful time. Thank you Laura for helping us all, and you are a credit to the the Trentham Village.Nikki, Duane, and all the team at Affordable Food Stoke

Excellent choice of meats 5 in total plus sausage for children if they didn't want the meats, vegetables cooked just right and the lovely tasting Toby gravy. Will definitely go again.

I felt this place is suitable for family meetup, friends, and with partner . Its better to visit at the early of opening , as the time pass the restoking of things would be not that great. The ambience is good . Hygiene is better, however for additional help you may need to weight for some time due to the less number of staffs.
