We visited on a spontaneous decision. The staff were welcoming but clearly it was busier than anticipated for that day as there were not enough staff to customers and so service was somewhat slow. We waited a long time between the main course and ordering dessert. Food was mediocre on the carvery. Only 2/4 meats at the time we went up as they were waiting for replacement joints to be completed for the missing ones. Perfect Carvery. All piping hot and fresh. Lovely gent on the carvery deck pointed out which were the vegetarian roast potatoes, which is always a positive and appreciated.Only tiny issue was we were sat by the door and got a really cold draft each time the door opened and the food soon went cold, but overall really enjoyed it.

We went on a Sunday, mid-morning. Service at the hot plate was slow due to food also being prepared for the roasts later. Big queues with a lot of waiting, not as much variety as I expected. Food was tasty enough. Easy to get breads and drinks on the side, although there was no coffee when we first went up. Overall OK experience. I would probably go elsewhere next time.
