Probably the best pub fish and chips I have ever had. The gluten free cider batter was amazing! Half way around the Saltersford Lane Circular walk, it was just what the doctor ordered. Lovely clean pub and smashing service. A good pint too ?. Would highly recommend.

The service (from the nice young lady and Chris) is exemplary and the food is well presented, perfectly cooked and great value for money. An excellent selection of drinks. What an excellent experience at The Tavern. Great location, great atmosphere, very clean and great service. We were first time visitors to England and our server Paula not only did a wonderful job with food and drinks but was very engaging and even gave us tips and advice for our trip. We were visiting Alton towers for the weekend and didn’t fancy eating at the park so found this little gem last minute and it didn’t disappoint! Fresh stone baked pizzas, juicy burgers and steak it was all delicious! The lady who served us was really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend! Thank you!

Rang last minute for an early dinner for nine of us (4 adults and 5 children). They were so welcoming and accommodating on arrival. The lady took a genuine interest in us as a party. Food was amazing; 9 meals came out together and all hot. All clear plates too! Will definitely return

Booked in for Sunday lunch to coincide with getting Christmas tree from Denstone hall farm . The Tavern is s lovely old characterful village pub . Very cozy vibes . Sunday lunch is Carvery . The staff went out of their way to sort out a Veggie option specially for me . The food and service here is excellent and we look forward to coming back soon . Cheers !
