Lovely food, service great, first time visiting for a while, quite shocked at pricing and no garnish included, I suspect its the state of economy affecting all

Always loved the Ferry Boat Inn over the decades, but the decline has really set in.Arriving at our dining table, we’d barely gotten one arm out of our coats before we were asked for our drink order. The seed was planted for one of those rushed-feeling meals, guaranteed to put you on edge.We started with sardines, which were lacklustre at best, tired at worst, with hacks of tragic, dry lettuce. I’d had their delicious grilled skate earlier in the year, so ordered it again. Sadly it smelled of ammonia, so I asked the server to send it back. She said “but it is fresh”. I wasn’t sure whether I should apologise for noticing it was clearly off…They replaced it with a very good battered plaice, but not before informing me that the chef couldn’t smell ammonia on the skate, insinuating I’m clearly an idiot - a troublemaker sent to ruin their day. My fellow diner was also repulsed by the off fish, but chef knows best at the FBI, apparently. Or they had a head cold. The cottage pie was sloppy, lifeless and without a crispy top, unlike the same pie several months back. The service was curt, perfunctory and the enthusiasm forced. There was no joy in the place. The ambient music was local radio, so the soundtrack to being gaslit by stubborn chefs was adverts for car dealerships. There are some excellent, friendly places in Felixstowe and beyond. The FBI has every opportunity to be the best in the area, but over many years it has squandered the chance by being soulless, inconsistent and frosty.

I went with my mum, brother and nephew, we all enjoyed or meals and drinks, fast friendly service, nice atmosphere and comfortable seating.Vegetarian options: A good range of vegetarian food is available.Dietary restrictions: When your order is taken, the staff ask if there are any dietary needs or allergies.Parking: There's a large area for parking, but it's a very popular venueWheelchair accessibility: There are steps but there are plenty of tables that are wheelchair accessible and the steps are small.

Always have a good meal here. The portions are decent and a very good choice. Prices have gone up. However, they have everywhere these days!!Very friendly staff.
