“Booked a table for the wife’s birthday (Ipswich) on a Friday night so was very busy. We asked for and were seated in a relatively quiet area. Drinks arrived swiftly (shame no 0% alcohol on draught) Our waitress for the evening was Katie, she was an absolute star, attentive, polite and professional. Food wasn’t as good overall as we would have hoped for, my calamari was more batter than content, the wife’s mushrooms in cheese was very nice. Main course I went for the 50 day aged steak , this was superb, worth every penny, not so the chips n side salad and the onion loaf. All luke warm. The wife’s lamb was tough, the broccoli was over cooked and limp, the dauphinois potatoes gorgeous. Dessert my wife’s lemon tart was superb, full of flavour. My Crème brûlée wasn’t caramelised properly but the flavour was excellent. For the price I’d have expected these mistakes not to have been served.”

“Nice eclectic little pub. Nice beers, great service. Lots of little rooms and nice beer garden to rearrange, as well as one by the roads at the front. Food looked nice but didn't try.”

“First Sunday lunch at The Bell. Sat in the main bar which was buzzing with both drinkers and diners both dining rooms full too. We ordered beef and pork with the set veggies, potatoes and Yorkies plus an extra side of cauliflower cheese. All were excellent and very generous portions. Plenty of gravy served alongside. Service as always was friendly and prompt despite being busy. We shared a cheesecake with blackberry compote. Can’t wait to return later in the autumn when the fires are burning. Great pub.”

“Eaten here alot and it's always consistently good. Plenty of gluten free and vegan options. Freshly cooked food. Also had works Christmas meal here 2 years ago and it was really great. We usually choose the small plates, tapas style but not tapas size. Always full when we leave here. Relaxed atmosphere. Also plenty of zero alcohol choices alongside craft beers.”
