I’ve frequented this pub as a local when I stay often in LM. In the last 8 months I’ve noticed they often decide to close an hour before actual legal closing time especially mid week, The staff are often rude and miserable, the furniture is tatty and the tables are dirty. Needs a huge upgrade renovation. Won’t be visiting again.

Cosy, quiet, good prices, nice surroundings, not bad prices, not bad food.Vegetarian options: Not many.

Good choice on menu.Food quality very good (beef was bit tough and chewy but no worse than elsewhere).Service good.Highly recommend Eton Mess dessert. All in all a pleasant dining experience at competetive prices.Parking: Parking lot to the rear of premises. Otherwise street parking.

Nice pub just don’t go on a Wednesday as every table is reserved for bingo so there is nowhere to sit !I wanted to order some food but I would have had to eat it standing at the bar ! ☹️

It’s still our go to pub for the atmosphere and liveliness however we have noticed a lot of staff have left and a high turnover of staff at the moment great

A very disappointing sunday roast. The plate was swimming in gravy the veg was limp and not very fresh . The Yorkshire was flat and soggy. The hunters chicken was burnt on the edges. We didn't bother with dessert. We have eaten here before and it was fine maybe the chef was having a bad

Superb! … I cannot understand the negative reviews. We have now eaten here 3 times including yesterday (3rd Feb ‘24) and on all 3 occasions, 2 on a Saturday and one a Wednesday, we were not disappointed… Atmosphere lovely, really warm and friendly with a good mix of age groups. Staff courteous and friendly, as well as excellent food! .. I will admit I am fussy about food and feel aggrieved when paying for food out which is not up to scratch or you could cook better yourself at home, but this is not the case here! .. I have had their beautiful thick cheese and garlic focaccia bread followed by fish and chips twice and yesterday the steak and ale pie with mash. Best pie I have eaten in a long time! My mouth is watering thinking about it! … My husband had the mixed grill which was fantastic with everything you could wish for on the plate and previous visits he had the burger meal which was spot on also! Wine good plus non alcoholic beer available! Cannot fault it! We live half hour away but class it as our ‘go to place’ now.

Me and my partner went for a bit of lunch on Tuesday and enjoyed ourselves as per usual, Hannah was particularly punctual with service and very polite, she made it a lovely experience!

Tuesday evening supper - told there were no burgers or fries however liked the atmosphere and offered a sharing starter and 3 main courses - over £60.We waited 50 minutes for the starters. One starter had to go back to the kitchen and two of the meals were ok - mine was dry and tasteless. So sad as the other reviews are good - just feel it was a expensive mistake.

Lovely little pub only downfall is seating , would have been useful if reserved tables had times on as we stood at bar and none of reserve tables had been used so could’ve sat down.
