Went here tonight because of the many good reviews, so I do t know what happened tonight but it was horrible. The only saving grace was the meat which was actually nice. However the veg & potatoes tasted like they had been out all day under the heat lamps. Potatoes looked great, but they were hard & tasteless. The veg was dry & also tasteless. The stuffing was uncooked & stodgy. We left alot of it & won't be returning. Shame because the setting it gorgeous.

Eaten here for a great number of years, always the best carvery local. Not any more. It has down hill drastically. Visited latter part of 2023, so disappointing decided that was it. Today not wanting to travel far, decided to give it the benefit of the doubt, no, very disappointed, never again.

Gone downhill over the years, veg selection getting smaller, no parsnips. Meat was ok, portion was adequate but now a 2 sausage limit. Also came across some mouldy/rotten cauliflower.

Lovely succulent lamb, with appropriate vegetables. Did not try deserts as was too full, but they devine.

After hearing how busy this place normally is. We visited the carvery after the lunch period, around 2.30pm. And we must have missed the rush, so I'd recommend going around then to miss the crowds. The food was off a very good quality, all the meats were cooked well and you got plenty of it too for the normal size meal. There is an option for adding one of their delicious desserts for a small addition fee, but to be honest... I'm glad i didn't because i filled myself up with the carvery. There was a good selection of vegetables, even my favourite swede was on the menu. Overall, I'd recommend going there, if you're after a carvery in the Lowestoft area.

These guys have definitely lost the plot for catering! We’ve had two meals, two weeks apart, thinking the the first poor dinner might be a fluke, but the second meal was even worse! Several poorly kept and cold vegetables. Dirty and slovenly kept counter top with even a cold sausage laying between the dishes. Parsnip slices cut so small that they were burnt or overcooked. The meat remnants were muddled and in short supply with one last slice of turkey served but nothing to replace the missing specimen. The gravy tureen was empty. Roast potato dish was empty. The broccoli was dry and over done but clearly left for far too long under the warming lights. To make matters worse, freshly cooked broccoli was simply tipped on top of the old dry specimen rather than removing the old. Absolutely appalling. A definite need to have a strong management person to oversee this fiasco as nobody around to cut and serve meat. It seems that most of the serving staff were busy chatting in the kitchen as plenty of laughter could be heard emanating from the kitchen area. My wife is a coeliac (Gluten free), she enquired about the green cheesecake desserts and if they might be GF. But was told that the two centrally place dishes were not for general sale as they were weekend specials and not for a Friday evening consumption. We were not even told if they were GF or not. The question is; why were these even displayed if they were not for sale? A real shame that I didn’t take pictures to support this appalling experience. We have been fairly regular costumers over the years, but we will not be revisiting for the foreseeable future. A great shame but clearly a case of very poor management I’m afraid.
