Used to be a regular but never again, what has happened to the place? £9 now for fish and chips..so its a treat. Bought a takeaway for my son and mother today. We have eaten there regularly for over 10 years, it was the best. Today lots of new people serving, very polite. The fish ok but the chips were so old, bitter tasting, dry and just disgusting. We had to throw them away. They must be recooking old chips. How sad. I may pop into see the Owner as he may not know. Think I will try somewhere new.

This is a top notch restaurant, really extensive menu, great service, really tasty well cooked food and fairly priced. Easy parking on the hill nearby. A credit to Sudbury.

Great customer service Great food Great value when you get told that you are going out for fish and chis for lunch with your family , you think ok , but this is not just fish and chips , this is fish and chips in a different class. Grilled or fired fish your choice and you know the chips are good when you don't leave any on your plate.

Visited the Codfather for Saturday lunch, both my battered haddock and my wife’s battered rock cooked to perfection. Staff were polite, helpful and attentive. Would certainly recommend.

We wandered into town intending to find a pub for dinner - didn't realise this take-away had a restaurant. So glad we chose this place. My wife is a fish and chip lover and her cod and chips were superb, I'm not a batter and chips person so went for the grilled cod, new potatoes and veg - which was really good - be aware the potatoes and veg are pan fried so not a low cal option but if you are watching your diet you are omitting a lot of fat by choosing the grilled fish - so I think its worth it. Delicious! We will definitely go back because I want to try the grilled sea bass.

The best fish and chips for miles, the fish is ultra fresh and the restaurant is also a lovely place to sit and relax.

A wide variety of choices available on the menu. Quick, professional and friendly service. The food (fish and chips for us) was lovely, fresh and tasty ,not greasy. Will hope to visit again when in the area.

Found this online and saw great reviews so I drove to investigate - What an utter let down. Batter was completely soggy, fish disintegrated and tasteless - had obviously been frozen. The Notice outside reads ‘probably best fish and chips in Suffolk’. This is probably the worst fish and chips in Suffolk.

Had 2 cod and chips last week - brilliant as always - I love the fact the staff always seem so friendly with each other - it makes you feel they really want to make an effort to be the best - and they are! The chips are always good and tonight the Cod was even better than usual! Wish they did 1/2 size mushy peas as I am the only one that eats them - but at the end of the day the fish is so much better than their nearest competitors (OMC) Keep it up guys!

Good fish and chips and mushy peas bug them staff will offer you medium, like they do in Costa. Automatically say yes but the potions are huge. I would stick with small portions or share a medium cod and chips between two
