Have been coming here for a while for special occasions and a seafood treat. However our last couple of experiences were not good ones. I know the owners have sold, but in the lead up to selling, being hurried along to get our orders in (even just for a drink) or “feel the wrath of an angry Frenchman in the kitchen” didn’t exactly bode well for the experience. I wish the old owners the best of luck but they should have just shut the doors or politely told people there may be a wait on food. Just something to consider before booking to visit before they leave, not a relaxing time. Be prepared to order before you’ve sat down!

Had lunch at the Sorrell Horse today. Food was excellent - salt and pepper squid, burger and an ice cream sundae. Service efficient and friendly. The pub was very clean and tastefully finished. We will return.

Enjoyed a superb birthday lunch here including escargots, goat’s cheese salad, bœuf bourguignon, flan and tarte tatin. Excellent cremant de Loire and Bordeaux topped it all off! Highly recommended.

Food was lovely. We had a baked camembert to start, followed by mains of beouf bourguinon, beef burger and moules frites. All clean plates. Service was also good and very nice sat right by the fire.

We had a wonderful seafood feast at the Sorrel Horse. We started with the seafood platter and then went onto to the most delicious lobster thermidor and my wife had moules frites! A lunch to remember! So wonderful to see a local pub serving local seafood, cooked perfectly with wonderful service. We can't wait to return.

Love this place and the fish selection available on the menu. We arrived on a Saturday and used the online booking system but I don’t recall it giving us the option to tell them we were bringing 3 dogs with us. We arrived early and popped in to say we had 3 dogs and the lovely guy who was leaving the next day arranged a nice table for us in the main bar. Some people arrived after us for lunch and headed for the dining area with dogs but needed to be redirected as clearly didn’t know dogs are not allowed in the dining room. We prefer the main bar as is nice and spacious and great if you are bringing dogs. Oysters were amazing as always and the lobster was great although I would prefer the salad that accompanied it to be in a separate dish rather than on the wooden board. Can’t wait to come back here it’s amazing and if I lived locally I would be there every week. Thanks for a great lunch.

Very poor choice as the menu available was nothing like the one available to view online.Scampi was mainly breadcrumbs, very poor quality.As a very experienced caterer myself I estimate the food cost of the scampi meal to be around £3 to £4.Unfortunately there are very few chefs around these days, many call themselves chefs but they lack to training and skills of true professionals.The worst meal that I have been served for a very long time, even the beer was warm.Needless to say, I won’t be going back and won’t be recommending.3 persons £25 per each including half pint of warm beer.
