Went to the Kingfisher last night and what a disappointment!!!Very surprised to see the car park half empty as on the many occasions we have come it’s been rammed! But, realised why as the evening went on.The welcome was……Not welcoming, no nice greeting not even eye contact.Taken to our table at the back of the restaurant in the function room, sadly the ‘server’ who’s in charge of that section is the most unwelcoming, unhappy, rude person I have ever come across in a restaurant!!He was dressed in casual clothes and trainers for a second I thought he was a guest hanging around the staff section but no he was staff! No emotions, looked miserable, no welcome, no eye contact didn’t look up from the iPad and interact, shocking really! In between serving he was hunched over the staff area looking on his phone! When he brought plates of food over he slid them onto the table not passing it properly to who had ordered it, didn’t ask if we were enjoying our food didn’t ask if we wanted more drinks. Our mains were bought to us by another waiter and he was very pleasant and we managed to ask him for another drink. To be fair my food was nice my husband’s pork belly was awful just fat- really not up to standard!!!!What is happening at the Kingfisher????? Really sad to see you are employing staff that obviously don’t want to work there and don’t like the hospitality business!Sadly, NOT value for money and NOT an enjoyable experience, we always try to support local business but for now we’ll be giving you a miss!!!!!

21 March 24, wife & I both ordered Steak Malbec Pies at £37.50 for the pair. We were both very disappointed with them. The meat content was minimal in both. I identified 4 pieces in mine, 2 were rejected after a good chew as too grizzly. The wife’s experience was similar. The veg we think was Broccoli and some green beans both were so undercooked as to be unpleasant on the tongue. May I suggest you use M & S steak pies in future. Failing that find a new pie supplier.

Very rude and not welcoming greeting said we were cold so we were sat next to a radiator that wasn’t on two of us had fish and chips which they said was ok two of us had sea bass when this arrived we both looked at it in surprise it was more like a started two small pieces of burnt overcooked sea bass and three half miniature potatoes a few hard peas and some sort of tasteless sauce when we asked if we could have more potatoes they said yes but you will have to pay £4 really awful the meal was 20 anyway came away feeling robbed and really hungry will definitely not be going back there not nice or value for money absolute rip off I have asked before a couple of years ago about the portions I was told they weigh everything ridiculous the waitress was nice but that’s itParking: You have to put number plate in on a arrival we got dropped off so I asked if you still have to put number plate in I was rudely told yes but if they have left the car park it may be too late so what happens then how is anyone supposed to know if you get dropped off your lift has to wait in car park until you put their number plate in I will definitely have something to say if they get a parking ticket there are no sign’s explaining everything and no prompting to put number plate in from reception staff which there should be

Busy, could have done with fires lit, but despite that very pleasant place to be.

good parking. Friendly greeting and shown to table Smiling and curteous staff . Good menu choice. Three meat roast was superb . The crumble was to die for and no problem when I asked for ice cream AND custard. Staff very attentive. Such a good venue and although busy nothing was too much trouble.

We booked a table for Mother’s Day and had such a wonderful meal, The Kingfisher did not disappoint.. It was extremely busy being Mothering Sunday but this did not stop the quality of the service we received or the food which was delicious and so much of it too. Our server (Luke/luca?) was great, very polite, friendly and helped make our experience even better. We will definitely be back, even thinking ahead for Christmas. A big thank you to all the team. A lovely friendly pub/restaurant.

They had run out of pretty much half the menu. Food was mid. Very disappointing.

Nice pub/restaurant located on the Thames. Food was very tasty and nicely presented. Service was excellent and the manager took time to chat with us. The restaurant has outside seating for the two days a year we have the weather for it. Good selection of beers and wines. The restaurant has a large carpark but remember to register you number plate when you get into the pub or there will be a charge for parking (free if you are using the restaurant).Parking: Enough parking for the pub and it's free if you're usingWheelchair accessibility: The pub has wheelchair access but some of the slabs outside are cobble so maybe not the smoothest

Friendly staff, nice location and good food. There's plenty of parking, the food portions are generous and very tasty. It was very busy so I'm glad we made a booking. We'd definitely good back as we couldn't fault it.

Excellent food, we (3 of us) had selection of breads and olives, tomato and basil soup, chicken paté, sticky chicken, calamari in black pepper, 2 dirty burgers and apple crumble (sorry no photos). All delicious. I picked the wine, which was awful to me (Red chilean Merlot), but my godson finished it anyway. Service was fast (Thursday 22nd Feb evening) and excellent. Thank you to the very gentle young girl who took the orders and the young (to me) man looking after us (new I think)
