I had a cream tea as part of a group of 6.Good points: easy to find. Parking was not a problem. Food was pleasant. Teas were nice to drink.MIXED: One of the cups was dirty. Staff spotted the dirty cup and replaced it, however, with a mismatched cup rather than a new cup and saucer. Poor attention to detail.POOR: Two of the party choose the same tea and were brought a pot to share. No in itself a problem as although their pot would finish before the others a new pot could be brought when the staff checked on how the meal was progressing. Except no-one asked us how we were enjoying the tea and whether we wished for more tea. It's the only time I have not been asked if I wanted more sandwiches or tea.We had 2 vegetarians booked and two standard. We were given 1 vegetarian and 3 standard. We were able to get this fixed but it was indicative of poor attention to detail and attention to customers. At the start of the meal, we were asked if we'd like to start with some water. As we walked out we were jumped on and asked to pay for the water. I've no objection to paying for water but it having booked 6 teas and paid in advance it would have been nice if we'd been told the water was extra. On summary, not a disaster, food and drink was ok but service was indifferent and non-existent after food was brought to the table. It just didn't feel like a special occasion and certainly not to be repeated, there are many better locations.

Lovely lunch here on special menu deal. Surprisingly not very busy. Magnificent surroundings with food and service to match. Definitely going

I booked an afternoon tea for my mum as a birthday treat at Langton’s. The place is stunning and the views are incredible. We struggled to find a place to park but eventually found somewhere, we were a couple minutes early but got seated straight away. However, it took about 10 minutes for someone to come over and offer us tea. The tea and the food arrived soon after that - I booked about a month in advance and requested vegetarian sandwiches, but when the food arrived it contained salmon and cream cheese, it was rectified quickly. This was as far as the service went. No one came over to check if we would like any drinks or a tea refill (we only got about a cup and a half of tea each from the pot). After finishing our tea and food we put our napkins on the table to signal we were finished and hoped someone would come over to check if everything was okay and see if we needed anything else. After being sat for a further 30 minutes with no service, I got up to find someone and ask for the bill, which took another 10 minutes to arrive. I’m unsure if we were unlucky and came on a day they were short staffed as the tables that were vacated still had glasses and cutlery on them waiting to be cleared the whole time we were sat there. There were other groups dining and it seemed they had no issues with staff coming over to check if they were okay or to offer anything further - perhaps because they were spending more money? The week before my reservation, I had to confirm our attendance and pay a deposit and then confirm my reservation again a few days later - the service received is no reflection of this. To summarise, lovely food/grounds but poor service. I’ll be choosing a different location next time.

Afternoon tea disappointing. Barely half a sandwich per person and not enough for each person to try each type of filling. Poor selection of cake, seemed like left overs.Parking: Sufficient

AFTERNOON TEA Came here with my mum after seeing the good reviews but what was not mentioned is that it’s held in a retirement village. Not necessarily an issue but did feel out of place and not as comfortable as would have liked.

Afternoon teas need a few basics to be good, it's certainly not rocket science. The important elements for me are plenty of tea, a good choice of teas, tasty sandwiches, a good scone served warm and some delicious cakes. It's always nice to be offered extra sandwiches and it's an absolute must to be kept refilled on the tea front. The afternoon tea at Langtons missed the mark. No offer of extra sandwiches, which to be honest were quite average, we had to ask for tea to be replenished, the cakes were decidedly average, they definitely were not homemade(tiny flat dry fruit cake, macaron, soggy clementine tart and a chocolate mini roll/yule log) there was also a tasteless posset of indeterminate flavour(maybe lemon) on the positive side the scones were absolutely delicious, the waiters were both very friendly and the surroundings were beautiful.

Hi. Stunning grounds. My mother and I wanted to drop in for coffee/lunch and check out the menu for lunch 18 December. And also ask some questions about the development. The signage clearly states open to the public.Yet the concierge was unnecessarily intimidating, reminding this was a private estate. So is Canary Wharf!!! And insisted on seeing if we had reservations. At 2 pm on Monday guests should be able to drop in, without ridiculous inquisition.Really off putting and I supect the same has happened with other potential guests.I quizzed him as to if we could see the Langton before making a reservation. And he reluctantly gave us permission to drive up to the venue but insisted we come straight back. On reflection utterly rude.By the time I drove up, my mother no longer wanted to dine. Can someone have a word with the chap upfront. He is in effect the establishments first impression.

Just popped in for coffee, so beautiful and glorious surroundings. Coffee came with a shortbread biscuit which was a nice surprise. Lovely to wander the grounds. All very relaxing. Menus looked good!

Afternoon tea booked for 4 at 13:45. We sat down in the restaurant and we received friendly greeting by the waitress. Would you like water for the table ? “Tap water” no offer of bottled water still or sparkling.. when booking I advised of a pistachio & cashew allergy the waitress confirmed this with us when we sat down and we let the waitress know we have epi-pens on us. Afternoon tea arrived and all looked well until we realised we have a pistachio macaroon right in the middle of everything. We confirmed with the chef that this was a pistachio macaroon so I then asked for the manager. The waitress who had served us from the start came over / manager??? And she apologised and offered to get us compensation ?? I have no clue why compensation was mentioned at all. then went into the kitchen. She came back out and proceeded to tell us the macaroon was almond based and it’s a grey area.. A GREY AREA !!! YOU SERVED PISTACHIO UP TO SOMEONE WHO HAS AN ALLERGY SPECIFICALLY TO PISTACHIO.. nothing grey about that at all just incompetent staff who have no idea how serious this could have been had we not noticed and investigated. There attitude towards this and us in general was nothing short of embarrassing. We paid for our drinks and left very unhappy with the service and lack of attention towards this matter. Grey area ?? SHAMBLES!!!

We had a gluten free afternoon tea here with my family for my birthday. The staff were brilliant & 1st class service all afternoon. The only hiccup was that there were no changing facilities for my 7 week old granddaughter, so a changing mat on the floor of the disabled toilet had to do.Everything else was perfect.Dietary restrictions: 100% gluten free

Surprisingly on arrival it wasn't intimidating at all. Throughout, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating & cheerful. Clientele were at the time in the senior category & the atmos was friendly and genuine. The afternoon tea & prosecco were splendid, with an array of tea blends on offer. The selection of baked scones arrrived warm & were absolutely delicious. A doggy box/bag was provided for take homes without issue. Simply couldn't do justice to the compliment of cakes on display.Finished the occasion with another glass of chilled prosecco on the glorious veranda overlooking the neat & well tended grounds.Dietary restrictions: On arrival the waitress immediately established we had no dietary requirements. On an adjacent table the waitress took great pains to explain the ingredients to a customer with a nut allergy. V good service.

Two weeks in advance, we excitedly reserved an afternoon tea experience through the enticing promotion we spotted on "Facebook." This offer included unlimited prosecco, setting the stage for a delightful outing. Our anticipation was palpable as we arrived at the venue, but unfortunately, our experience took a disheartening turn.Upon arrival, the reception provided only partial directions regarding the location of our booked afternoon tea. However, our hopes were quickly dashed as our initial interactions unfolded. The staff member managing the check-in process guided us to a seating area and presented us with a Sunday menu, a stark contrast to what we had pre-booked – the afternoon tea experience. Our attempt to clarify this discrepancy was met with a suggestion to change tables, as the initial one designated for us apparently suited the Sunday Roast crowd.Adding to our dismay, as we settled in, it became apparent that the tablecloth and serviettes were noticeably dirty, marred by large gravy stains. This further underscored the lack of attention to detail and cleanliness.Despite relocating, our situation remained unclear. Another staff member, seemingly uncertain about their role within the establishment, informed us that no reservation had been made for the afternoon tea we had booked. This response left us perplexed and frustrated. Our attempts to rectify the situation were met with an astonishing lack of professionalism and empathy. Our complaint about the inconvenient £20 taxi fare we had incurred fell on deaf ears, met only with rudeness and indifference from the waiter. The staff member made no effort to investigate or provide a suitable resolution for the predicament. Rather, they nonchalantly dismissed the issue, suggesting that such occurrences were simply a part of the process.Faced with limited options, we reluctantly chose to settle for the afternoon lunch at the hotel. This decision required us to relocate our seating for the sixth time, highlighting the disarray in the service we had encountered. The overall experience felt disjointed, exacerbating our disappointment. Adding insult to injury, the staff offered us a small drink, despite our earlier expectation of enjoying the unlimited prosecco that was an integral part of our pre-booked arrangement. The lack of concern exhibited by the staff members in addressing the chaotic situation was glaring, leaving us feeling like mere spectators in a disorganized circus. On our departure, the waiter made a passing comment that next time we should ensure to double-check the accuracy of our booking details. This remark, however, seemed misplaced, as we had directly contacted Langton's at Cooper's Hill to make the reservation, ensuring accuracy on our part.In conclusion, our much-anticipated afternoon tea with unlimited prosecco turned into an exasperating ordeal marked by confused service, lack of accountability, and a blatant disregard for our pre-arranged reservation. The experience fell far short of our expectations, tarnishing what should have been a memorable outing. The state of the tablecloth and serviettes, marred by unsightly gravy stains, further highlighted the lack of attention to cleanliness and detail, compounding our disappointment.
