Quickly became our favorite and go to place to eat. Very authentic experience. Food and staff top notch!

Nice tapas at a good price, nice open fire. No parking but a church car park opposite.

I’ve been coming here for the past 40 years. As a kid with my late dad, sitting outside sipping Coke and Worcester sauce flavor crisp while he had a pint and as an adult. Tons of memory and I hope its door remains open and those memories remain with it.

We were a table of 6 kids and 6 adults. Put in last moment and what a wonderful experience. Great food, great host and made us all laugh. Changed the menu for the kids. Nothing was too much trouble. The ultimate customer focused experience! Thank you for looking after the table with the well behaved kids!

The best meal and service I’ve had in a very very very long time!

The food was absolutely magnificent! It is amazingly priced, traditional fare. The service was above board, anticipated our drinks before we knew we needed them... Magic!

I have a relative in the care home nearby and chose to eat here, as I’d read reviews saying it was dog friendly. With friendly locals. Having over a 2 hour journey, each way, it seemed a perfect way to enjoy a visit taking him out to lunch. So I reserved a table with the inclusion of 2 dogs. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Seated us in the dining area. The food and service was excellent. Our dogs were a little excited as others joined and left the pub. I think the owner had a dog similar to ours, so there were doggy exchanges as they left and returned to the pub. It’s small and we were near an entrance. After our meal, on using toilet amenities, we overheard ‘regulars’ sat at the bar, discussing our dogs. Saying they should be taking outside and tied up. It was raining! At one point a guy said he’d kick them if they didn’t shut up. This lead to a few choice words between us. We’d spent a reasonable amount of money on food and drink, as a party of 5, while they sat nursing beers. There was no tv or event, and our dogs weren’t overly noisy. We were in the pub less than 2 hours!I found the atmosphere unfriendly and would only return if the weather allowed for outside seating. The staff apologised to us, but it did spoil the end of our first visit to our relative.

Nice pub but £17.50 for 2 pints is steep.

Not tried this pub before but been today for Sunday lunch. It’s a ‘Proper Pub’. Excellent pint of London Pride to start. Dining area is to the side and separate but you still get the buzzing atmosphere from the bar. Staff all friendly and welcoming. Food service well organised. Steak & Kidney pudding was superb as was my wife’s roast beef (rare as requested). Good value bottle of Malbec to accompany. We had table at 12.30 but it was getting really busy by 2pm. We had a really good time and will definitely go back

We went for my partners birthday . We were 12 and I wanted to do the tab as if we were 2 separate tables as I had my family up 1 end and his up the other. Long tables not great anyway - 6 one side and 6 down the other so neither end could mix - not great. Anyway, even though we were having Tapas menu and other end having main menu(which has no veggie option at all) they said cook would get too confused with 2 tabs - this caused me to get shouted at by one in our party and great friction the rest of the evening. If they had just let us have 2 sep tabs it could all have been avoided. Soup was amazing - best bit but I am afraid I had a rubbish time.

We went for a Sunday roast . It has been awhile since I’ve been inside and I was so pleasantly surprised because it has been refurbished to a high standard. It was warm and the staff were really welcoming and friendly. Felt relaxed instantly. The lamb roast was excellent can’t recommend enough. We throughly enjoyed the whole experience. Hope to go back very soon.

Popped in and asked for a latte. It took two attempts and 20 minutes before I was presented with my drink with too much coffee, far too little milk and (not surprisingly) less than 2/3 full glass. I had to ask for something to stirr my drink as coffee/milk had 'separated'. Undrinkable. Please landlord, if your coffee machine isn't working just say so. Don't sell coffee of a totally unacceptable standard.

Genuine local boozer, serving good beer and food at reasonable prices. It deserved to have more customers last Saturday night when we visited with friends, maybe Strictly kept people in. They missed out on a gem of a pub, for sure, hope trade picks up, otherwise yet another good old proper English pub will be lost.Vegetarian options: The menu catered for veggiesKid-friendliness: There were a couple of kids, maybe the staff's, when we visited. All well behaved and part of the charmWheelchair accessibility: Appeared to be flat access from the roadside throughout the bar and lounge areas

This is a traditional local pub, and the star ratings are in the context. Friendly staff and patrons, dog friendly (old girl was treated to a few biscuits from the regulars and was well fussed), with surprisingly well presented and cooked food - the menu was unpretentious, but having order the chicken kebab and expected standard pub grub, enjoyed tenderly cooked chicken with tasty salad - apparently the new chef is Turkish so maybe I lucked out with my order. I am not a regular here but will be going back. Football was being shown at the other end of the bar but it never interfered with where we were eating. As the premises is near the town centre on street parking is impossible, but if visiting in the evening the parking at the church opposite is free. If you are local to Epsom and want to support a local business trying it's hardest, give this place a go.Parking: If visiting in the evening, the car park for the church opposite is fre.
