“The food was excellent, there was a good selection of well kept real beers and it was an October lunchtime where the sun shone making it warm enough to sit in the garden. One of the finest steak sandwiches you'll ever get to eat.”

“Food was great, for me the meal wasn't cheap but it was worth the money. Service was quick and staff friendly. The building itself is beautiful and it's great they've kept original features, there's also lots of old photos of the building and local area hanging on the walls which were fascinating to see. The evening we ate there it was fairly quiet not sure if this is usual, but it did mean the service was very quick.”

“This a smallish venue with an almost overwhelming choice of menu options. Some standards/classics but some different/more unusual dishes. Friendly polite and prompt service. Food nicely presented and tasty. We are a group of friends who have regular pub and curry evenings. We'd not tried this place before, all of us enjoyed our meal choices and would go back again. Limited selection of wines. The bill was £40 a head inc tip for pappadoms, shared starters, a main course and shared rice/ve each, cobras and a bottle of wine between 4 of us. We thought it was fair value for money.”

The atmosphere is good and there are a few different seating options, including outside dining, casual sofas and armchairs and more formal dining area, I've been here several times in the past as the options make it suitable for a range of purposes.The food here is great, if a little pricey so I only eat here on special occasions, the rotisserie chicken is particularly good as are their desserts.Staff are friendly.”

“Great little bar with a fantastic vibe especially in the courtyard outside, the cabins there are really cool. Bit limited on beer choice but they have Pravha which I like. The cocktails are good especially the sloe gin bramble. Relaxed atmosphere as it attracts older clientele”

“Good quality food, friendly staff and dog friendly. Not cheap but reasonable value and we enjoyed our visit.The dog treats at the bar were a nice touch and the staff happily supplied us with a bowl of water for our thirsty boy.”

“The good things:Very convenient for the places we needed to visit.The staff were excellent.The bed was comfortable.Food was good and well presented.The niggles:The bathroom door would not close as the top hinge needs adjusting, and the extractor fans didn't seem to be working.The table lamp looked as though it was ready to fall to bits - didn't dare touch it.The tables we used in the bar area had quite badly stained seating.The general appearance was quite shabby with numerous areas of paintwork needing touching up.Walkability: Godalming town centre is within easy walking distance.Food & drinks: The food we had was excellent.”
