Although the general presentation, staff friendliness and atmosphere was good, there was a few things that prevented it from being a great stay.The breakfast for the price charged was very underwhelming. Although what we got was tasty, the variety and portion size of the food available did not justify the price.Additionally, there was a strong smell of drainage coming from the bathroom which built up when the room was left absent. I originally thought this was just ours and didn't put much mind, but after talking to the other party in my group we realized it was happening in both rooms.

Room was nicely decorated,Cold room. Heating was not working until the morning.Food was very good, however service was good until desert was served then nothing...Oh, its not on a lake.. Its sort of near a lake!!

Car park was great. Hotel nicely decorated. Food in the restaurant was lovely. Room was a good size with everything you might need. Heating was easy to control. Mattress and pillows were comfy. It’s in a convenient location- petrol station not even a minute’s drive away and just an 8 minute walk into Godalming town centre.No one explained to me about the night entrance which would have been helpful. Bathroom occasionally smelt of drains. The WiFi wasn’t working very well but is apparently due to be rectified. My room overlooked the patio area so there was some noise from that and the nearby road. I take my own ear plugs as I’m a light sleeper but it would have been nice if some were provided in the room.All in all I had a great stay and would book there again.

The venue was well placed and the bar/ restaurant areas were lovely. The room (6) was ok , but was dusty and had a blood stain on the mattress which could be seen through the sheet.As we stayed for 1 night ,we couldn’t find a staff member to tell as they were busy. I would certainly encourage you to check the mattress and maybe get it cleaned or replaced.Rooms: Spacious, large bed, tea making facility

Staff were very friendly and helpful, couldn't fault them. Wonderful ambience. Food was amazing! Loved the family room , great size and everything we needed. Easy direct access to rooms. Were booked in the restaurant for 1300hrs last Saturday. Bar service on arrival was very slow and exacerbated by what I presume was lack of training. The bar staff completely ignored me until I was eventually served. I could see she was putting drinks on trays and had another customer at the bar. However, some acknowledgement of me and brief explanation that she just had a couple of trays to make up would have gone a long way.Once we were eventually seated, we were told there would be a considerable wait for food, this seemed odd as we had a booked slot and they didn't appear particularly busy. I would estimate not much over 50% full.When the food eventually arrived I have to say it was very good although the addition of some vegetables would have been appreciated, or a mention on the menu that which dishes didn't come with vegetables and would need ordering as side's.Sadly the waiting staff were not particularly on the ball. I had to leave the table to request extra drinks and despite eventually being given a desert menu I again had to go and find a member of staff to take the order.Great shame as it could have been a much better experience.

The service was great and the restaurant food was delicious. However, I asked for a quiet room and I was awoken many times by other guests. So if you need a quiet room specify being allocated a room of a higher number (i.e 20). Also the room was very dark which made it difficult to get ready in for the wedding.

The room was large, clean, comfortable and quiet. Dinner on Saturday was superb (I had the crab, prawn & chorizo linguine). We were made welcome by all the staff.
