Husband , son, grandaughter , we all came for Sunday Lunch, I can honestly say it was the best roast I have had out for many years, beautiful beef , large portions, great veg, Yorkshire pudding really tasty, I couldn’t manage desert, but crumble and custard for my son and ice cream for the other 2, tasted custard, yum, everything good. The dog had a ball, lovely biscuit treats. The staff were really amazing, so friendly and courteous, cheers to the chef. The friendly atmosphere passed on through to the customers, altogether great experience, will be back, highly recommend

Could do with a refurb or maybe just a tidy up as there is quite a lot of clutter. 90% of the beers were unavailable but the wine was nice.

I had Christmas Day lunch with my son today. I can’t recommend this enough. Food was great and portions were so generous that neither of us could finish it all. Staff were all friendly and helpful and even the chef came out to check everyone was happy with meals. I took my dog who was welcomed with fusses, given water and treats and an empty bowl so that she could share some of my food. Will definitely be going back again.

Looking forward to a lunchtime beer on Christmas Eve only to be told that as they had not ordered beer in time there was no draught beer at all. They could only offer bottled beer. What's more they weren't expecting a beer delivery for another five days. How can a pub expect to survive if it doesn't have any draught beer over the whole of the Christmas holiday period.

Nice and friendly, reasonable beer unfortunately let down by their coffee. No food on a Monday as Chef was having day off. Good location outside Guildford and plentiful parking. Has a beer garden and terrace for the summer months.

Was disappointed to find that no food was being served for lunch and was informed that the chef just hadn't turned up for work. The last meal I had here was excellent, but on this occasion I was forced to dine elsewhere.

Standard pub fare - not the sort of food you'd travel to eat, but equally you won't have your soul crushed if you need to stop off here for a bite. Decent beer garden out the back.

Popped in for food! Was told we can only have the Sunday roast, and was given the menu. First thing we order was soup, out of stock (home made soup)? Out of stock?Next on the menu we read that a generous Sunday roast (meat of choice) as obviously they had no idea what they had left in stock would be accompanied by a Yorkshire pudding (delightful) honey glazed parsnips(didn’t arrive on the plate) and seasoned vegetables, I can only assume came direct from the microwave(had to season myslef)! To top it off they came in three separate pie roasting dishes which was only one shortof the 4 overcooked aunty Bessie’s potatoes that arrived that looked like they’d been cooked in dirty oil or four times over!Added to this a family that booked 2 nights ago which also included the meat(so it was pre ordered) was told they have no pork left!!Never go there again! Stay clear

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Easy to get to from Guildford by car, good car park. Staff pleasant and helpful. Menu limited, and what we had was of only average quality. My chicken and leek pie was rather soggy and had little discernible meat. Chips good thick cut. Peas (thankfully) just peas - not minted or mushy! Sticky toffee pudding was pleasant and served with plenty of custard. However it was closer to streamed syrup pudding than sticky toffee.

Waited for half hour before we were asked if we wanted food, even though we had booked a table for dinner. Staff behind the bar had no idea of our booking, said we could sit anywhere. The chef was standing at the bar just chatting with the bartender and other customers while we waited, this was at least 15 minutes he was by the bar. When the bartender/waiter did come to our table to ask if we still wanted food (we didn’t) we said no and he just walked off not caring why we no longer wanted to eat. There was no query as to why we didn’t, he didn’t seem to care. He seemed more concerned with having a good time with the chef, who was still at the bar when we left, than serving people who had booked a table to eat dinner. Won’t be returning here and will be telling family and friends of our experience.

Consistently great pub. Everyone who works here is warm and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Very dog friendly, with dogs positively welcomed and spoiled rotten during their visit! Food is excellent and generous and there are gardens front and back which are well maintained and lovely to sit in on a warm day. Would definitely recommend a visit.Vegetarian options: Great veggie lasagne!Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome as it's a family pub with a large garden and children's menu

Plays very loud music late into the night from their garden parties; I live several streets away and with windows shut the bass can still be heard well past a reasonable time in the evening (coming up to midnight and still going...)
