A very comfortable cozy place where you want to return! We enjoyed our dinner in a pleasant environment with songs from the 60's. The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and waiters with smiles and nice uniforms. Our dishes ( duck breast, risotto verde) ?were delicious with rich flavours. I recommend!

Horse & Groom Merrow

Wow, a wonderful Sunday lunch yesterday. So glad we booked. The service was amazing, food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. Somehow managed a dessert too, amazing food all round. Could not fault a thing. Thank you.

We went for a afternoon tea, which we booked in advance, which is something that I highly recommend as this place can get very busy.The afternoon tea was great and had plenty of items on each plate.The dessert that is served in a small flowerpot was voted the best but of the entire meal by the whole party.Drinks are on the expensive side, with you paying more than some places in London.The choice is great and those of the party that had cocktails said they were very good and it was even better that they had the chance to see them being made.The staff were all very approachable and friendly, and did a very good job considering just how very busy the place was, there where no empty tables and the bar was full.The atmosphere and decor are great, and it is a place to treat yourself and your friends on a special occasion.It is a swanky place and that is reflected in the prices charged. But worth a look if you want a treat.

THE IVY ASIA, GUILDFORD

The food was amazing and aesthetically pleasing. The service was also excellent. We went on a Saturday night and they had a DJ, they played jungle drum and bass that was so loud I couldn't hear my partner and we both had to shout to hear each other. We also couldn't hear the waiter explaining the food. When we finally got out of there I had a headache from the noise level. It was such a shame because it ruined the whole experience.

Lovely venue for a large gathering. Well organised and the food was amazing. The service was quick and attentive. They put us in a seperate room which worked well to avoid disruption of the normal customers when we got a little louder as the night went on. Great

Turtle Bay's bottomless brunch exceeded expectations, thanks in large part to the outstanding service provided by Hattie. Her attentiveness ensured a constant flow of delicious cocktails, enhancing the overall experience. The value for money was undeniable, making it a brunch worth savoring. Highly recommended for those seeking a very messy bottomless brunch.

Sushi Nara

My family and I (11 people)booked a restaurant around the corner but they made a mistake so we can’t get our reservation on time and that restaurant’s music is too loud(can’t even hear what the waiter is saying),not suitable for my small children and old family. Luckily we found Sushi Nara got enough seat for us. The food are very delicious and quick to serve. Staff are nice and supportive. Highly recommended and certainly would come again.Kid-friendliness: Enough space for baby stroller and when we request hot water for baby food, staff are very helpful and nice.

My second time dining here - a real hidden gem!Great service & fantastic food!I'm yet to try the dessert menu, so it's definitely an excuse to come back!It's also worth noting that the restaurant is kept spotless, bathroom included - a rarity these days!Thanks, til the next time.

Lovely place. Small but perfectly formed. Very tasty chicken skewers and some perfectly done halloumi served by the ever solicitous Anthony.Sat outside under the heaters and watched the world go by.P.S. Garlic sauce goes with everything...

Lorenzo's Cafe Restaurant

Lovely Café, the owner is amazing and always takes suggestions to heart for instance the student discount, we previously mentioned how it would bring in much more traffic and now he has started incorporating the discount and he reminds students that there is an amazing discount.Great coffee, great food, great service.I would definitely recommend the latte with a shot of caramel syrup as it is a personal favourite.

De Nada Tapas

Overall it’s 4/5. The food was tasty, they have quite a few options for different tapas. However it’s a bit pricey given they were small dishes; it’s almost the price of a main.It was a bit busy but not completely full; service was a bit slow.

The Good Intent Puttenham

The perfect place to stop for a pint and a bite to eat after/during a walk on the North Downs Way. The atmosphere and service were pitched just right for a country pub and the food was delicious. Will definitely be going back.

I never do reviews, but on Thursday went to The White Hart pub at Wood Street village for a meal, and it was absolutely fantastic. Can't recommend it highly enough. A definite 10/10.Every food course was delicious, the surroundings were calm and tasteful, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. It was one of the best meals out we've had in a very long time.Please pop along and support them. Olivo

Visited Olivo for a pre theatre dinner. Service was attentive but not intrusive, with a generous helping of humour. Food was delicious and pipping hot (when it should have been). The garlic bread was superb and worth having that on it's own as a snack; although even better dipped into the lasagne sauce. The only slight fly in the ointment (but I've not marked them down because of it) was that the wine was a tad expensive, even for the more basic wine. We haven't been for a while and not sure why this is but we will be coming back; albeit maybe just for a sober visit!

All Bar One Guildford

Amazing service and equally amazing staff. Sophie and Oscar were particularly lovely and made sure we never waited for refills/orders which can sometimes be an issue at places when doing bottomless brunches! Excellent value for money, will definitely be recommending to friends.

HarBAR Kitchen, Bar & Terrace

Six of us met up early afternoon for our reunion; we started our nurse training in October 1983 and most of us hadn’t met up for 36 years. We spent the whole afternoon and evening in the Hotel Restaurant and it was absolutely wonderful. We had light lunch, tea, coffee, drinks, cocktails and bar snacks in the evening. The staff were wonderful to us, especially Daizy and Jake who were so lovely to us. The food and drinks were all superb and we all said we will definitely be back. There is a lovely decor and atmosphere in the hotel. The only criticism would be that the entrance to the washrooms was very dark especially in the evening. Thank you all for such a wonderful day.

The Bray

A very well traditionally pub run in a quaint little village in the heart of the Surrey hills. Needed to amend my reservation last minute which they did and when it came to the meal I had no complaints. A lengthy menu serving generous tasty portions. Important to book in advance as only one of two pubs in the village.

Kinghams Restaurant

One must start by saying what a beautiful 'oldy worldy' place this is. Deep in the heart of Surrey, what a tranquil village. There was no trouble with parking. I was with friends celebrating their 50th birthdays (three years ago, due to Covid!). The staff even went to the trouble of bringing out a chocolate piped place with a candle - such a lovely thought. Each course had been well thought out. Despite the portions being very small, one left feeling very full and satisfied. I was even served scallops without the truffle butter, thank goodness! I can recommend the elderflower mocktail (due to driving)! I never choose an apple dessert, but this one was purely delicious with the calvados sauce. There was nothing I could fault, from the staff to the food. The pace of service was spot on with enough time to digest before the next course. Thank you for a really lovely evening and can't wait to return. We all enjoyed our evening very much. I can thoroughly recommend.

Rogues Bar

Not the most interesting choice of beers, the same beers served in millions of average pubs up and down the country, but it's nice inside. It deserves better beers, but I'd return if in the area. Plus it's open late which is good.

Unplug + Play

We enjoyed the most wonderful 2 hours here for our daughter’s 7th birthday. There was only one place she was going to have her party - this cafe is her favourite place, and our go to half term activity. We loved introducing her friends to the cafe, which was basically like holding a party in a toy shop!!! Thank you so much to the team who made us feel so welcome and enabled us, as parents, to relax and really enjoy the party. See you soon!

Passorn Thai Restaurant

It was lovely to have another meal at the Passorn Thai Restaurant in Shalford. It was completely full when we turned up for our 7:15pm reservation. Every indoor table was occupied. As a result of it being so busy, the food took longer than usual to arrive, but it was well worth it. The staff were so friendly and attentive.Parking: Either on the road leading to the station, in front of the restaurant or up Chinthurst Lane, a very short walk away.

The Parkway Beefeater

This was a simple stop off before heading on to the ferry. The service was quick and friendly. The portions were large. The food was average, pretty much chain fare, but otherwise it was a nice meal, with a good kid selection and filled the spot on a random stop off of journey.

Jeita Restaurant

I highly recommend the Lebanese restaurant for its exceptional food and impeccable service. The flavors were authentic, and the staff was attentive, creating a delightful dining experience.

Maloncho Tandoori

It was a great place to dine in on a very wet and miserable night. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. My husband had Thawa Lamb and I had Chicken Passanda which were beautifully cooked and very tasty. I would thoroughly recommend Maloncho

Three Pigeons

After going to see Level 42 on a Monday night , I was wandering around Guildford at 10.50 trying to find a pub and found the 3 Pigeons.Walked in to find out that it was open to 12.It gets 5 stars for just that!Well done the 3 Pigeons. Keeping British Pubs alive and it's quite nice too.

Lakeside Restaurant

This restaurant is amazing! If you’re thinking you can’t have a top class restaurant on a University campus think again….. it was some of the best food we’ve ever had and presented so well. I wish I could’ve had everything on the menu! The chefs ate very very talented and would not be out of place working on some of the top restaurants in the world. We will definitely return

The Olive Tree

Great place for Sunday roast. The pub itself is really nice with a nice atmosphere. The only minor negative is that it was a bit cold inside (not too bad though).The staff were all brilliant, very helpful and quick to attend to requests. Would definitely come back again!

We were a large group of 11 visiting for Sunday Lunch to celebrate a birthday. Paulina and her team were very accommodating and friendly. Nothing was to much trouble. The food was delicious, best Sunday roast I’ve had in a while. It was great that other dishes were still served on a Sunday for our younger party members to. So compliments to the chef and kitchen staff . It was a lovely afternoon ?

I recommend this petrol station. Staff is very friendly and I always come here to fill my car. One time staff gave me almost half of the scratch cards for a chance to win some good prices. Would have given 5 stars if one of those cards let me win ?

Petrol and diesel pump. Plus waitrose in the Shell petrol ⛽ pump. Nice shopping for groceries, all kinds of foods available for daily use. Fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, frozen foods as well. Food for babies, mix fruit pockets for toddler's. Also parking available, staff is very helpful. During entry you use, amazon shopping code, so you do need to swap your card. That is amazing piece of technology, if is easy to use and shop quickly.

Good to know diesel was still available yesterday evening, small queues and friendly staff. All helpful in this hour of need, despite the frenzied panic buying. Persons on the forecourt all helping each other too.

Tonight Thursday 17th Aug I was trying to get back home to my pub in Yateley, Coming from Sutton up the A3 only to find that the M25 was closed, so continuing on to the hogs back again road closed, I was tired & hungry so pulled in to the service station, not much time to get back to close up I struggled to find something hot to eat, this guy on the check out had the most genuine way about him, he cheered me up no end, Thank you big man and the offer of a beer on the house still stands, keep up the customer service, you are a natural

Anchor & Horseshoes

Stumbled across this place when we went to a remembrance on Friday. Saw a sign for best Sunday roasts and knew we had to try. Called on the off chance they would have a table for two adults and two kids. They didn’t disappoint and were able to fit us in within half an hour.The portions sizes were incredible. Children sharing a kids portion was plentiful. I had lamb shank and it was melt in the mouth. Husband had beef and couldn’t fault it either. My only thing is I’d like my potatoes crispy, so will ask next time :)Looking forward to our next visit already.

Coffee Culture

Very cozy place with the best coffee so far. I almost teared up when I saw that they have soup for lunch (not a common British thing, I hate to say). That was a lovely meal that warmed my soul. Just a tad bit of salt next time won't hurt ?

Meat the Greek

If gourmet fast food is a thing, this place is where to find it. Rapid service and quality of food is exceptional. There is indoor and outdoor seating. While seating is limited, there is always the option of takeaway and eating on a bench in the Guildford castle park nearby.

The Thai Terrace

Recently, I've had the pleasure of dining at The Thai Terrace, it has become one of my favorites for Thai cuisine. Their Pha Thai noodles and soft crab are particularly noteworthy – both dishes are bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The cleanliness of the restaurant is impeccable, and the staff are not only well-trained but also incredibly welcoming and efficient. A handy tip for visitors: if you're driving, the parking fee is more affordable after 6pm in the paid parking lot located in the same building on the 4th floor. A fantastic dining experience overall!

Rumwong Thai Restaurant

Best dinner i had in a very long time.Starters were crazily good, I recommend the pork ribs and shrimp dumplings. Special mention for the battered cod, it was tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside, sauces too were amazing. I also had tofu and it was Amazing too, crispy and well seasoned.I truly loved it. Staff was very professional, and took amazing care of us. Hope to be back in Guildford soon to grab dinner there again!Vegetarian options: Only tried a delicious tofu curryKid-friendliness: They have a special menu for kids with different option, that they serve in a lovely kids plate.

Red Rose

Excellent meal, as always. Portions are generous and it always arrives freshly cooked. We visit this Bangladeshi restaurant quite frequently and of the view that the food is hard to beat. Until recently the restaurant didn’t hold a liquor licence and guests could take along their own alcohol, which was always a real plus for keeping the costs down. They didn’t even charge a corkage fee which was always a bit of a surprise. Our visit the other night was a shock to learn that, under a new owner, alcohol has now to be purchased from the menu (although regular guests are told they have some grace time to learn of this). In my opinion this is a mistake and will certainly impact upon our decision to attend as frequently as we did do. The absence of customers (we were the only ones in there) on what should be a busy night might support our view. Such a shame to lose this rare benefit at what is otherwise an excellent culinary experience. If it had to change, introduce a corkage fee, rather than abolish ‘bring your own alcohol’ - you may live to regret it!

Caffè Nero

Great service. Forgot to mention we wanted decaf cappuccino, was willing to pay for new drink but they replaced free of charge. We went back a couple of hours later because they were so lovely.

The Stoke Pub

Great atmosphere, reasonably priced. The small plates are delicious. We got the tacos, sliders, and squid, all were very good. Great selection of drinks on tap. The brownie is great as well.Don’t order coffee tho, no one seems to know what an americano is and was handed a double espresso without milk or sugar. Newer staff member aren’t trained adequately but are still trying their best with what they were given.

Pizza Express

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. The food was the best we have ever experienced at a pizza express and the atmosphere was lively in the best way. But put all that aside the service was by far the best I have EVER experienced!! And having worked for the ivy myself I can certainly say that Gabi ( our waitress ) was amazing !! She was super quick for every element but more so her personality was kind, personable with just the right amount of chat!She was a joy and again the best waitress I’ve had! Fantastic

Zizzi - Guildford

Had dinner here prior to a show. Service was excellent but I was a little disappointed with my pizza. The pizza itself was ok but as I'd asked for mushrooms and extra cheese I felt the paid for additional toppings were not worth the extra expense. Come on Zizzi - don't be so stingy. Not even sure if I got a whole single mushroom.

Tortilla Guildford

Great service, food & vibe. The staff were genuinely interested in making it a nice visit. Added bonus was happy hour drinks. Staff checked we were happy with everything. Definitely 10/10.

Seafare Guildford Fish and Chips

I would have rated them 5/5, but today I wanted to change from my regular Fish n’ Chips to a chicken burger which turned out to be a mistake. I got the plainest chicken burger you can get ?, if I’ve had known it comes like this I would have grabbed ketchup and mayo at least to go with it. Thankfully I have ordered the chips with it, which If I only rate it I could give it 5/5.Staff are friendly.If you update your chicken burger, let me know so I can change the review to 5 stars.Thanks and wishing you all the best.

For a Friday evening was seated quickly and the waitress was polite. Food came in phases (but this is the theme of the restaurant) but we didn't see our waitress again. This was a shame as it was a hot night and extra drinks were needed.

I would normally give a two or three star for the food. But tonight was fab. They must have a new cook because it was the best takeaway I’ve ever had from there.

Had family over so my daughter pre-ordered 6 meals over the phone. We collected and they were all ready and waiting. The girl serving promptly found a plastic bag to cover the order bag as it was raining.Lovely grub, generous portions, Very clean and sparkling interior. Their website is a bit of a joke; it needs a proper re-vamp. It's not very old so they need some good advice, it is very user-friendly, hardly legible. Plus no Huss. Now maybe this is an endangered species and when asked on the phone the guy said they hadn't had it for over 3 years . . . which begs the question, why is it still on the Online Menu?Despite the abysmal website though it is a great Fish and Chip Shop!I wonder if I'll get a response to my review?

There's a reason the seats outside are always full.Like a tiny bit of Greece has been placed down in Guildford. There is a large selection of Greek pastries and treats as well as some quite nice coffee. Perfect place to go if you fancy a café with a unique atmosphere.

Best value restaurant in Guildford hands down. For decades this place has been serving authentic fresh Turkish food and never disappoints. Love the Guildford Special and for the price it is simply amazing. In town centres full of poor quality food chain restaurants it's great that there still are a few great independent restaurants like this. Their home made Lamb Doner is best in UK in my humble opinion. Great meze selection also

Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble . Friendly locals. Good food . We stayed overnight as we were there to see a band. Accommodation a little tired but clean . Comfortable beds tea making facilities.

Astolat Pub

Came for the curry evening with all of my family and loved it. It’s £12 for a curry, rice or naan and a drink (soft drink, wine or beer). Exceptional value for Guildford. The food was amazing with very generous portions, drinks were on point and service was friendly. Good atmosphere with several football matches being televised on the big screens. Clearly a favourite with the locals and the uni crowd which is great - everyone was happily mingling with each other. It’s great to see a local pub doing so well on a Tuesday night! Absolutely fab bakers. I've been calling in every time I pass for over 60 years!! Yes, since early childhood. Who can resist Christmas Bakery! They do lunch to go, bread and cakes. They'll cut your bread while you wait .... now that's good, old-fashioned service. The staff are a delight - a rarity these days!! Support independent bakers!! We need to keep them!! Guildford Kebab Centre

I always tend to get their 6 hot wings. Cheap price and lovely crispy wings, with a lot of flavour (very crispy!!) and for a great value. The man that works there is very welcoming and kind.

What happened the the music ?. Other than this I've always had good food here and will always go back, the bouncers on the night was so helpful and friendly and need to be given an mention! staff was helpful when asking questions about drinks. They would have got a 5 star if the music/disco was still available

Omg! The food here is insane, can't believe it. My student finance will be spent on kimchi soup. It's so fresh and huge portions, my new favourite place to eat and it's on a uni campus who would of thought!

Wooden Bridge

Still remains the best pub I've been too as an all rounder. Only thing that lacks is a picturesque beer garden but other than that it's perfect. Excellent for live sports. Well priced drinks. Cheap and delicious food. Pool tables and plenty of space inside. Many of my favourite nights watching the big games have been here.

Perfect Pizza (Guildford)

Great tasting food, had starters, salad, two pizzas - all food was very hot and came in time. The driver was great - actually drove to the back of the hotel and then came round the front when he realised i was in front - very courteous driver as well. I feel like choices on the menu were really good as well.

I dont know whats going on. Been going to Mings on and off for decades. Tonight.. wow.. the food was on another level.Blown away I am. Fresh, punchy and stunning.Give the kitchen staff a high five from me please.Front of house was super cool too

Tasty, not had this before and it was delicious. We always end up eating at other food chains when we have visited shopping malls but decided to have a change and was happy we did. We had sweet and sour chicken and noodles, lovely and left me feeling full for quite some time.

Caffè Nero

The staff here are amazing. They make me feel welcome every time my family and I come in to the store. We have made it out regular coffee shop in Guildford as a result. Brando deserves special mention for making a fantastic cappuccino. Kyle and the manager also deserve special mention for always being on the ball, never forgetting a face and great service
