Proper old school pub. Real fireplace. The food is on point. Lots of locals, and they are welcoming to all those that turn up.

I met up with an old friend for Friday lunch and a couple of pints. I live within walking distance and don’t know why I haven’t been there before! I had ham egg and chips and my friend had fish and chips - both were great as was the beer. The staff were very friendly, the pub has a comfortable and traditional atmosphere helped by the open fire. I will definitely return.

Lovely pub and friendly

Lovely quirky pub and restaurant, delicious home cooked food, good portions without overloading you so that you have room for pudding. I had the steak and ale pie followed by bread and butter pudding, really good winter food! The sevice was friendly and attentive, giving us the history of the pub which was interesting. It is an excellent place to meet up with friends or family.Parking: Paid parking lot next to the pub very reasonably priced at £3.30 for 3 hours.Wheelchair accessibility: Check before booking as the entrance is up a couple of steps with restricted width as well as inside due to the historical age of the pub.

Lovely couple behind the bar. Food was delicious, plenty of choice. Drinks were a good price. Good pool table. Small car park. Definitely worth a visit.

We revisited the Running Horse for the first time for quite a while, and this charming pub has not lost none of its charm. We were warmly greeted by the management, and were extremely well looked after by Cindy who was a very nice lady. The beer was great, and the food was absolutely delicious, and we would certainly recommend it.Many Thanks to Cindy, for looking after us so well.FromRay,Rosemary, and our dog SusieNovember 1st @12noon.Parking: Car park at the pub for four cars, but a pay and display next door.

Cosy & friendly pub with good food options and a laid back social atmosphere. Cindy and Colin are lovely.

Visited the Running Horse for Sunday lunch today and to catch up with a friend. I booked a table over the phone, which had been reserved. Luckily I did, as the place was heaving! We sat up in the dining area, which was perfect, as we could hear the unexpected live background music, but it wasn't deafening, so we could easily chat. We both ordered the roast beef, which was delicious! A proper home cooked Sunday lunch. Tender meat, crisp roast potatoes, and plenty of gravy! Reasonably priced. Friendly, attentive service made for a great visit to my local pub. I don't know why I haven't been before, but will definitely visit again!!

Stopped off here at the end of a walk and enjoyed a beer. Great historic pub with a good selection of real ales, friendly staff and a nice beer garden. Sadly wasn't serving food when we went even though the website said they would at that time, which was disappointing. I look forward to going back.
