Lovely quirky pub and restaurant, delicious home cooked food, good portions without overloading you so that you have room for pudding. I had the steak and ale pie followed by bread and butter pudding, really good winter food! The sevice was friendly and attentive, giving us the history of the pub which was interesting. We revisited the Running Horse for the first time for quite a while, and this charming pub has not lost none of its charm. I met up with an old friend for Friday lunch and a couple of pints. I live within walking distance and don’t know why I haven’t been there before! I had ham egg and chips and my friend had fish and chips - both were great as was the beer. The staff were very friendly, the pub has a comfortable and traditional atmosphere helped by the open fire. I will definitely return.
