“Had a meal this evening. What a lovely place. I live miles away so can't be a regular. Such a busy place but organised well. Food really good. Great atmosphere. Best coffee I've had out for years. I asked the waitress to make it the way I like it. I admit I'm fussy . She made it perfect. Many thanks to Emily S . She was brilliant.”

“I haven't been to this pub for about 18+ years. I walked in and was warmly greeted by the landlord Harry and Leanne behind the bar. Over the course of three nights, I enjoyed some great beer, great company and wonderful conversation from the regular customers. I would highly recommend this wonderful, traditional British pub. ?”

“Lovely pub and great value lunch! Food and a drink for £10! I had wine, my friend had a pint of cider. Cosy interior plenty of space and the main menu looks to be good value too. Will visit again.”

“Lovely local pub with pool table. Staff were lovely although one male member did keep staring at my group which was a bit uncomfortable. However the lady was chatty and very patient while we decided our drink order. Ample seating out the front and in the garden but has very few car parking spaces. Right near the station and not far from the train which makes it ideal and not too overcrowded.Parking: Not many spaces for cars and any other car parking near is paid parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access through the front door for those with wheelchairs and plenty of room to manoeuvre whilst in the pub.”

“I’ve been here many time in the last 15 years and have seen it changed hands a few times. The food has been consistently good so cannot fault it for that. I’ve taken my son there after school at least 2-3 times a month over the school years and he’s now a grown man! We’ve had meals there, drinks… always good. I hope it operates for many years to come. As long as the food, service and ambience are good - it should do well whoever the management is.So, with the latest new management and bathe it new menu- the dish I can recommend is the red snapper risotto! So so good. Looking forward to try the others soon.”

“We had a lovely stay here as a family. The rooms were lovely with the best tea and coffee making facilities I have experienced in a hotel room. Good shower, comfortable bed. A nice Dyson fan in lieu of air con. And a TV that actually worked without kerfuffle. It was also very peaceful once the pub chucked out around 10 to 10.30. I would definitely come back here, it's a little gem. Staff were friendly and polite. A beautiful view of the river and breakfast was lovely with lots of cooked options. The only thing that some may not like are the sloping floors in some of the rooms, I liked it personally as it is a feature of an old building, but some may not.”

“I had a fantastic time at The George - JD Wetherspoon with my friends. The atmosphere was lively, the service was friendly, and the selection of beer was excellent. The pub's cozy, typical English style ambiance made the experience even more enjoyable.”
