Pubs in Woking

“Outstanding lunch at the Red Lion today. Impressed by everything, from the decor to the friendly service and most importantly the food. Very imaginative menu, beautifully cooked & wonderfully presented. My first visit today but already looking forward to next visit for dinner in a couple of weeks time. Highly recommended and by far the best gastro pub in Chobham. Make sure you visit if you get the chance.”

“We had a problem with the reservation, I made a reservation twice through the website but never received confirmation. At least we sat at the bar and tried the roast, the food was good and fast, the cauliflower cheese was very tasty.”

“Great that Martin has been able to reopen the kitchen after staff holidays. A few new items on the menu too including a delicious Moroccan chicken casserole. As always, great food, good beer and a warm welcome. Thanks to Martin and his team.”

“This place does the best Sunday roast! It's a lovely pub and the staff are very friendly and efficient. There is a car park, but due to its location it can get full.We had our young son with us and although we had a high chair, we couldn't fit his pram near our table. It was a busy Sunday and the pub is quite small, it wasn't a problem on this occasion, but could have been if he was younger....just information for any parents who have children in prams.Back to the food.....I would recommend the pork roast or beef- delicious! The selection of desserts is great too.”

“A great enviroment to be in.we walked in at a busy time and were still accommodated with a smile.food is good but a little pricey on the horse shoes burger for what was on the plate.that said it is well worth a visit for the atmosphere and great friendly service.”

“The roast dinner is delicious and generous. I had the pork but my friend had the beef and that looked devine- perfectly pink and juicy. Our server (Baylea) was new to the restaurant but she was exceptional, attentive to our every need, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff seemed accommodating and professional. Will be back, and give the beef a try this time.”

“Nice little pub with friendly staff and nice locals, the price of the drinks also helps with a little visit.”

“We have driven past the Anchor many times but never stopped. So when we needed call into Ripley we decided to try it for what we thought would be standard pub grub. Should have looked at the menu outside but we're nicely surprised when we did get the menu. We settled on the set lunch: I had the mushroom Scotch egg sandwich my wife had Hake, both were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The best part however was the Raspberry cheesecake with mango sorbet. Friendly staff: interesting chat about Glenesk School. Almost forgot, very nice pint of Rebellion IPA.”

“I had lunch here on a Monday in November. Great service. We both had the poached eggs on sourdough. It was very nice and the eggs were done to perfection but on very thin bread. The molten chocolate fondant I had after was a disappointment as the midfle was not molten at all. I can make better.”
