Sick of the OBSESSION with forcing customers to use the self checkouts, which is clear profiteering and a way to cut staff wage bills. This store is particularly bad at not having many staffed checkouts on, forcing the customer to do the work in scanning their own shop. I've started shopping elsewhere due to the lack of actual staff. I support human staff keeping their jobs, not self checkouts. Avoid!

Good choice and friendly staff but toilets a disgrace.Wife tells me 3 toilets blocked in ladies and stinking on last week.Visited 8pm on Tuesday and stench of urine hit as you walked through the door. Hadn't mentioned the toilets to my adult son and it the first thing mentioned within 30 seconds of getting in shop.Come on Asda you can do better. It's letting your shop down.

Mostly great staff. Awful management making staff and customers unhappy. Lots of hygiene violations everytime I've visited. Mouldy bread, out of date meat, raw meat above cooked meat today. Seems to be a bullying culture between the management and staff. Really dreadful place, it used to be a nice shop and handy at the end of the street. Would rather drive ten miles than visit again.

Really bad service, rude staff and empty shop. I’ve visited this Asda for the past 2 years and it has rapidly got worse each time I visit. We only use this store as it is closest to our home but in future we will start going further afar as this store is a shambles. The shop itself is filthy, floors are disgusting and look like they never see a clean. There are never any produce available , constantly empty fruit and veg aisles and lack of meats and fish. The last time we visited we found lots of beetles / eggs all over the fresh basil plants, we checked a number of plants to find every single one was the same, we found a member of staff who was working on that aisle at the time and showed her she couldn’t have looked any more uninterested if she tried, she shrugged her shoulders and continued what she was doing. No apologies, no I’ll grab a manager nothing.Really can’t see this store lasting any longer if the state of despair continues! Avoid! Travel slightly further to Lidl and get amazing produce and much better pricing!

Great range and choices but very, very slow staff. Recommended self checkout or scan your own shopping as tills are exceeding slow.

I have to shop here regularly due to having to do elderly family members shopping for them and have done so for the last 5 years. In the last 2 years I've noticed a rapid decline within the store. The same items are regularly unavailable. No doubt due to a lack of staff. So many empty spaces on the shelves and often see out of date products on the shelf. Like today I saw a 3 day out of date pack of ham.

Asda in Gosforth is not too big for me, they sell a variety of brands and Asda own products, unfortunately the shelves are not stocked and they are regularly empty. The music is far too loud but this is a problem in all stores as I am hard of hearing.

I'm a regular customer here and find the staff pleasant and helpful. You can buy just about anything in store and they have a pharmacy a Timpsons and a photo printing and frames seller. Only one criticism , the new layout . There are barriers everywhere . For example if you wanted to get a newspaper or a snack and forgot to put it in your trolley before you go through the barrier then you cant. Its made the shop feel hemmed in and restrictive which is off putting
