*EDITED TO ADD**After making a complaint, the management of Fat Hippo Newcastle and Head Office have been brilliant - giving us a full explanation of what happened, and have offered a generous and helpful resolution to the issues we had. Really impressed with their customer service.*Very poor service, took over 45 mins for starters to come out and then another half hour after we'd finished them for the mains to arrive. This is a snug little place, well done out, a bit drafty, but it is a cellar of a very old building. We were seated very quickly and our waitress was very quick to take our order. Our drinks arrived, no food. We waited and waited, still no food. Eventually, I had to say something to the waitress, explaining that in a very small restaurant, we hadn't received our food, or an explanation for our famine, this was after 20 minutes. We had a great lunch here! The burgers and chips were amazing. The garlic chicken wings were BRILLIANT! We had two toddlers with us and they had a good meal. The server was welcoming and attentive.Only difficulty was getting the buggy in as you come in and have to immediately go down a full stair case. But we carried it down between us. It's worth it for the great burgers!Kid-friendliness: Colouring and a kiddy meals
