The tomato soup was warm and hearty, we also had the mixed platter which came with really good olives and chutney.\\n\\nI don't drink much, so the 25ml wine sampler was perfect for me to try out all the local wines! And at £5 it was a no brainer to try them out.

A great place to enjoy a glass of exceptional local wine and relax.Cheese and mixed food platters are excellent too!

Lovely late lunch on the veranda beside the babbling brook overlooking the vineyard with the mountains in the background. It's good to be alive.Great place to reward yourself with after a walk up the Sugar Loaf in the morning.A very rare Welsh Red wine on the menu.

Visited the vineyard this past weekend & enjoyed it. We didn't book & were very lucky that they were able to fit us in. We tried the blush, & some cake, & both were lovely - we even purchased 2 bottles to take away with us! Would definitely recommend a visit.

We stopped today on the way from Sugar Loaf. We didn't wanted to eat just grab a drink and rest for a bit. We been told they are fully booked even tho I saw at least 3 empty tables. And I didn't feel welcome at all. When we asked about coffee to go we been told around 10 minutes wait ? no thank you, I will pass. And for sure we not gonna come back . Lots of friendly pubs around with warm welcoming staff, not like here.

We visited to sample some of the wines and also had a small cheese board to share. And we'll definitely be back. The building is lovely and the location is stunning. Especially in the sun. And the staff were all really friendly and helpful. We tried a couple of the whites and the red. All of them were lovely. I especially enjoyed the Calon Lan. It was a shame there wasn't a tasting flight available to be able to enjoy all the offerings. It was also a shame not to be able to try the sparkling wine whilst we were there as it wasn't sold in glasses. Although we did buy a bottle to take away! For me a very small thing let the experience down. And that was the thick, chunky wine glasses. The sort you would get in a cheap pub. Not really suitable for tasting decent wine.

Lovely experience overall. Just a shame that the sun stayed in today. Easy recommend, well worth a visit!

Lovely wine, charcuterie board was excellent - brilliant view, beautiful quiet little spot at the top of the hill.

My wife and I stopped here after climbing the Sugarloaf for refreshments and light lunch. Second time we have visited and have enjoyed it both times. It doesn't sell hot food other than toasted sandwiches. Sells sandwiches and platters based on local produce, cakes and hot/cold soft drinks along with their own wine. You can make reservations. Good value for money in our opinion and a very beautiful setting.

Just had a 4 day stay in the holiday cottage at Sugar Loaf Mountain Vineyard. The cottage is fully equipped and very comfortably furnished. The cafe/ restaurant is located in a beautiful vineyard, and the wine is extremely good! The proprietor louise is very friendly and helpful . The location is beautiful and scenic, with a short drive to the main town of Abergavenny where a varied selection of shops and a supermarket are situated. I will absolutely recommend this location to stay and enjoy the beautiful scenery and walks as well as the warm welcome given by the people who are local ? xx

I’m afraid this was the second time I’ve been disappointed this month by being essentially turned away when there were evidently free tables on the terrace and ample room on the greens and gardens. And both times the front of house welcome made us feel we were a problem being there and in the way. It wasn’t busy. No queue.Rather than persevere this time, we walked away. I realise others have fedback that the “booking only” system is unfortunate, but for me it is the manner of the communication of this. Like few others it feels like we are an inconvenience rather than finding ways around it. Would have loved another wine tasting or just a simple coffee. But unless the wee welcome desk changes the manner or there is an increase in tables I won’t be coming back soon.I’ve enjoyed wine flights, salads, cake and cheese boards here in the past 6-7 times, but this experience has not been positive I’m afraid.
