We had lunch there and both enjoyed it. I had a veggie breakfast and my other half had Eggs Royale, both were very good.

Lovely little cafe restaurant in the heart of Bala. A wide range of food to suit all tastes and appetites. Pleasant staff and surfaces spotlessly clean. My meal was simple yet exactly what asked for. Recommended.

Cosy cafe and restaurant where we were given a warm welcome. The food is really good and portion sizes very generous. We will go again next time we're in Bala. Y Cynfod was full of regulars on our visit, all of whom were greeted and asked after since the last time they'd been in. Many other places in Bala were empty, a testament to Y Cynfod's standards of quality and service.Dietary restrictions: There is a menu marked up with gluten free options, and you can ask for no parmesan to make many dishes dairy free.

We were debating whether going for the new menu at Plas Yn Dre or reliable Cyfnod. We chose correctly! At least 10% cheaper for all dishes, delicious, and friendly attentive swift service. That's what we've come to expect at Y Cyfnod. They don't disappoint. Chips particularly are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Atmosphere is low key, so we can relax in our casual clothes and just enjoy. Owner and his family are the servers, so they're super attentive and friendly. The food was very quick to come to the table. All round great.

The food was absolutely delicious. We were recommended the Christmas special for the Pan fried Salmon Fillet and it was worth it.Equally, if not more, the staff was very courteous and friendly. Made us feel welcome. It has to be appreciated that there were only two staff members managing all the tables amongst themselves.I would highly recommend Y Cyfnod Cafe & Bistro if you are in Bala town or passing by it.Kid-friendliness: High chair is available.

Very welcoming waitress. Very extensive menu for the look of the place, and i don't mean that in a bad way. I would not say it's italian, as listed in Google. It was a late lunch, 3ish, everywhere else stopped serving, thankfully they didn't. We had some lovely non expensive wine. I had the Welsh burger and it was delicious, moist, with a great taste of lamb, and the chips well cooked. My wife had gammon steak, she said delicious, with some lovely fried eggs. Price very reasonable. Great, honest service.Parking: On the high street. Could get busy in holiday season.

Lovely home atmosphere, very clean. Owners very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. The food we had was lovely but we saw some amazing dishes coming out of the kitchen. Would definitely return.

Read reviews thinking this would be a good place. Service shocking to be honest with a rude man on the door. Unwelcoming atmosphere and overcharged us for food. Food was decent, but i wouldn’t ever go again with the service and price. Very disappointing.

Called in with my son en route to Dolgellau, having been to Wrexham to move some furniture. A very welcoming place with excellent service and great food. We had a ham sandwich and tuna panini both with salad and chips; really delicious and filling. Would highly recommend.
