I feel ill after eating here, the fish wasn't bad after taking it out of the batter, my mistake for eating the next to inedible burnt hard oily chips and batter though, because I was hungry.Don't recommend.

We ordered (for takeaway) 4 large chips, 6 large fish and 2 jumbo sausage. The total cost was £78. Chips and sausage were ok. Fish was the worst we have ever had from a chippy. The portion size was more like normal than large. The fish itself was over cooked and rubbery. We had to throw most of it away. I suspect it was simply battered frozen fish which they cooked in the fryer. To add insult to injury, the fish cost £9.50 per portion! Extremely poor value for money and poor quality. Needless to say, we won’t be returning and would suggest you look elsewhere if you want good quality, good value food.

Chips were bitty and tasteless, fish was dry and tasteless, gravy was gelled and blobby. The price was a bit high for the standards. We will not go there again.

Selfish and inconsiderate behaviour of staff, partying with loud music in the shop until 4am Monday morning. Perhaps they could consider the effect on local businesses (namely guests staying at the Bull and Townhouse opposite). I certainly couldn’t now recommend that as a place to stay, even though it was wonderful, having been kept awake until 4am. Shameful.
Only had some chips but they were excellent. Staff were friendly. There was a bit of a wait as we went in on a Thursday afternoon and they cooked our food fresh.

The worst fish and chips I've ever had. Disgusting and expensive. The seagulls were very lucky that day. Never again.

I have got coeliac disease so was looking for gluten free options. After reading that Dockshack has good options, plus the fact they had a board outside stating gluten free fish and chips, plus they had it on the wall and finally a sign near the till on the counter starting “ask about gluten free options”, I asked what options were available and was told none!!! I asked two different women who were serving and even after I stated it was advertised in many places, they just said they had none!!! This was early afternoon and found it disgusting, false advertising! I then went down to Neptunes fish and chips who were completely different!!! Very helpful and explained that they have a separate fryer for gluten free!!! I would never go to Dockshack ever again

Spotted their sign upon leaving the castle, and popped in, admittedly 5ish mins before they opened for lunch. Was greeted with a smile, and despite confirming they hadn't quite opened up yet, were pleasant and accommodating, cooking chips fresh for us! Two portions of chips were really affordable, and arguably one of the better quality chips we've had in ages! Ended our little Welsh break away perfectly. Thank you!

Walked in straight away woman behind counter said " we only have what's on the board". Asked what pie of the day was and she said there weren't any pies. Big neon sign said burgers, so asked what burgers they do, she said we don't do burgers and it was just a sign!! The bloke who was cooking looked scruffy and couldn't be bothered!
Perfect!
