“They have bass straight out of the barrel, food is good and great atmosphere, if it's sunny there's a nice seating area outside”

“I had the lamb and roasties with sticky pudding and proper custard. The lamb was very tender and cooked perfectly, the roasties were crispy and soft inside. The vegetables were fresh and steamed for a short time with slight salt. The service was friendly and wasnt noisy.”

“I can't envisage a Michelin starred restaurant serving better Fish and Chips. Guinness or bitter batter which was light and crunchy. The cod itself was fresh and flavoursome rather than mushy and generic and is too often the case in restaurants. Thin homemade chips not covered in oil. Even enjoyed the salad. This place (and the cod) is a real find!”

“Quiet while we were there so unable to comment on the atmosphere. Very nice, tasty food at a very reasonable price. Most important, it's dog friendly (Google please update your dog friendly pubs page).”

“Visited here for a quiet evening, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and locals. They hadn't started food serv8ce at the time we visited, I believe they are serving Sunday lunches now. All in all a really nice village pub in the shadow of Coity Castle. We will visit again”

“Great pub with a full, reasonably priced menu. Highly recommend the steak pie and the cod, unfortunately they didn’t have muscles the day we went but the prawns were a good substitute.”
