They seem to have a problem with people vomiting in the toilet and therefore restrict responsible drinkers from ordering more than three drinks. Very rude landlady.

We’ve been to the Mackworth for Sunday lunch for two family occasions recently and the food and service has been fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for Victoria and her team and we will definitely be back again!

We called into the pub on a Friday night while staying in the area over the weekend. We were so impressed with the food we returned again on the Saturday night. Over the two nights we had tried the gammon, burger, homemade curry and the grilled chicken. We also squeezed in a waffle for dessert. The food is amazing and we are already planning on when we can visit again. The staff were very friendly. Thank you to Victoria and Wayne for making us feel welcome. I would highly recommend visiting.

Such a lovely evening! 12 family gathered to celebrate Stephen's 64th birthday with food and drinks. The specials of Jambalaya and Vic's famous trifle were delicious and the pie was as good as ever! Can't wait for Stephen's 65th!! Thank you x

Excellent food quality and staff are bubbley and helpful. I ordered the vegetarian lasagne and my children had nuggets and chips and sausage and mash from the kids meal, which they demolished. Will definitely visit again.

Had an excellent pub meal here this evening! Reasonable. Party of 7 all enjoyed our meal. We’d recommend the Garlic mushrooms! Teens loved the crispy calamari. Burgers were on par with some of our favourite other pub meals in Bridgend. No frills but excellent service. Really nicely decorated - well maintained! Would eat here again and hear from diners that the Sunday dinner is very good!

Burger and fries were hands Down the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten.Even ordered 10 mins before they closed (sorry btw) and still received the best service and best meals.Best in BridgendGoats ?

The burger was nice, if a touch overdone. Lots of good quality bacon - practically more bacon than burger! Good chips too.The wings were nice enough, though I'd maybe reconsider the garlic butter topping which made them very greasy to eat - perhaps a dry seasoning heavy in garlic would give a better result? The main issue and hence the 3 stars is that the meal cost £22 for a bacon cheeseburger, fries and wings and that's collected! For me, that's a price I'd expect to pay to sit in somewhere. Won't come here often, if at all, for that kind of money but worth a go for sure - perhaps others will find it good value.

Great burgers. One of the best places in Bridgend.

We decided to try a different pub for a meal just for a change , we were not disappointed with our choice, evidently the pub only does meals Thursday to Sunday, we were just lucky it was Thursday, so we ordered. I had a Gammon which was superb not salty or skinny it came with decent chips mushrooms 3 tomatoes egg and pineapple with also a little rocket and cucumber this has to be the very best gammon meal I have ever had, my wife had the butterfly chicken with mushroom sauce with chips and a side salad of rocket tomatoes etc , needless to say her meal was very well received too. The restaurant area was a very pleasant place to be just adjacent to the main bar area on a slightly raised level , I would heartily recommend this pub for the meals , Thursday is quite quiet I cannot vouch for the quiet atmosphere Friday onwards though as it surely will be far busier
