A proper pub, run very well with something different on each night of the week. Geraint, Katie and the rest of the team have made this a real gem in the heart of Bridgend.Sadly they are leaving and the Pub is going to be closed again.It's a pity that the owners, Star Bars and Pubs, and the brewery Heineken couldn't see what this place means to the people that use it and provide the support that is needed here. Used to come regularly, but after a sharp dip stopped for years. Now under new management Katie and Ger have transformed the place into a homely, friendly place to enjoy spending time.

Many people complain about the lack of "good" pubs in Bridgend but this is far from the truth. The Old Castle restores good old fashioned (with a modern twist) pub atmosphere. Yes the building in certainly inviting but the warm welcome and the ability to make the customer feel "special" is a dying art, both Geraint and Katie (and all staff) certainly make you feel that way. The Old Castle treats customers like family!!
