“A lovely old Inn perched atop a beautiful hill. The lamb shank was delicious, and the only potential negative is that you have to drive some very narrow, steep and windy roads, and it can be quite hard to get parking. If you've got the energy, I'd highly recommend getting the train into Taff's Well and walking up to it.”

“As busy pubs go, it has some of the best atmosphere.Perfect for students, but perfectly welcoming and tolerable for everyone else. During the day, the upstairs has a trendy coffee shop vibe in one half, and a more taproom, pub-like vibe in the other... Downstairs there's a games room and a very pleasant walled garden area that you can lose yourself in on a sunny afternoon.Decent beers, always at least a couple of casks, (and not all overhopped "crafty" beers, either) and some decent ciders. There's something for everyone, as long you don't mind being surrounded by dozens of (perfectly well-behaved) 20 year olds.”

“Came her for the bottomless brunch which is currently offered. Food was quick to arrive and really tasty, the pie was excellent. All the staff were brilliant, even though it was quite busy and a special mention to Chloe our server who gave us an outstanding service all afternoon.”

“Nice bar, with a good atmosphere, serving tasty food and drinks. You can tell that the front of house staff enjoy working here as this is reflected by the excellent service. It was my first time trying Welsh rarebit, so it’s difficult to compare with other restaurants serving the same dish but, it was tasty and I would have it again. For mains the Glamorgan sausages and the mash were nice but there was too much gravy for my liking that it overpowered the other flavors…perhaps they should serve the gravy is a separate gravy boat. Overall, a nice bar and eatery that I would recommend if you want to try some “local” Welsh dishes.”
