Great spot for lunch or dinner or just a pint of local Wye Valley or Kingstone beer Attentive staff and a wood burner gives the pub a welcoming feel. There’s a good range of food - well cooked and presented with delicious deserts We will definitely be returning and supporting this pub that is such an important part of the local community

Boxing Day festive menu. The quality of the food, service and the drinks was great. The pub had a lovely atmosphere.

First time here since the pub reopened. Great food with gluten- free options. Lunch with friends. We all enjoyed our mains and yummy puddings! Two had the mushroom risotto (creamy and tasty!) and one had the pie of the day with mash, veg and gravy. They said it was the best pie they've ever had! Beef Nightjar pie. We had gluten free sticky toffee pud with either ice cream or custard. The pudding was really light and the sauce was divine! One had chocolate brownie with ice cream, which they enjoyed. Will be back soon!

On 2 December the two of us had the Festive Menu for lunch. We had the smoked trout and game pate for starters followed by pork loin and hake as main course. It was delicious and well presented. Sarah was an excellent host. We give them 5 stars!

Lovely pub, attentive and charming staff and excellent food. Also love the story of how the Rising Sun has been saved by the community. Well worth travelling for.

My wife and I have dined at The Rising Sun, Woodcroft on several occasions with parties of 4 to 11 people. The food has always been good and last Sunday was exceptional. Good food, good beer, cheerful staff, nice ambience.

Do not eat here. 4/5 people seriously unwell after dining here. I spoke to 'manager' who said he was also the chef. He couldn't care less about unwell diners. GP visit had to be sought. Shame on you!!!

Exceptional !! A great community owned pub which has a great atmosphere, home cooked food and very attentive friendly staff. We had a Sunday roast which was delicious. Real attention has been paid to getting the flavours right and sourcing quality local produce . Plus even though it was busy , which is a recommendation in its self , we were not kept waiting at all. Very impressive! Thank you .

Absolute gem. Stopped in this eve for dinner and a pint, food was excellent (nachos for me & a burger for my partner). Great beer from wye valley brewery and a warm welcome. Lovely to learn that the community has taken this on after it sadly closed down and what a fantastic job they are doing of running it.Vegetarian options: Good rnge of homemade options including vegan

We enjoyed a fabulous lunch today. The best fish and chips we have eaten in a pub for a very long time. The nightjar pie was exceeding yummy. I can well recommend a visit, each meal is cooked to order so it's fresh and hot. Thank to the rising sun team.
