We went for tea here. It was midweek so it was quiet. A traditional looking pub which does meals. The man behind the bar was friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We chose from the small plates selection of which there was plenty of choice ie: Chicken wings, Scampi, Meatballs, Onion rings, Garlic Bread, Chicken Goujons, Onion Bajhi, Chips, to name a few. We visited a number of times (2 couples) and despite some of the negative reviews, we all really rated the The Carlton for food, drinks, service and atmosphere. The menu has a really nice range of pub food and everything we had was superb. We all commented how piping hot every meal was and it stayed hot too. This pub is definitely worth a visit for some food and drinks. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food prices are fairly reasonable. You can add a drink to your meal for a pound or two. The food has plenty of flavour and good portions.
