I've visited Hen Aelwyd a few times because it is local to me but also a great place to meet friends, the coffee is good and all the meals I've had here either from the menu, or the specials board, were delicious and made with care.
We've passed this cafe so many times, I don't know what has taken us so long. We had Welsh rarebit today, one with bacon and one with mushrooms and it was perfect comfort food for an icy cold day. The chips were also probably the best we've had in years, crispy outside with fluffy insides, like chips used to be! The waitress was also very patient with us practicing our Welsh and was helpful and clear with her replies. I will be recommending Hen Aelwyd Cafe ;-) The perfect morning....read full review

Went for breakfast here on 25th February after staying close by in Betws y coed, got to say one of the tastiest breakfast we have had and at a very reasonable price too, staff very warm and welcoming and food delicious would highly recommend for breakfast. If i was every staying close by this would be my go to place for breakfast
