The food was good, and price is decent, staff was also friendly, Just the only thing that was a issue was the chips being very soft and soggy, but above all worth having now and again to support it etc.

This used to be our favourite chippie when I worked in Neath. Asked for jumbo sausage in batter and chips with curry sauce twice, were given jumbo sausage in batter, curry and a tray full of scraps ?the few chips that were edible (less than a dozen) tasted nice so it’s a shame so much was only fit for the

Had our first Sunday lunch from here today. A nice meal but what happened to the promised sprouts? Also needed more gravy but all in all not bad I would have given an extra star if we had received everything we ordered.

I just ordered a delivery the money has been taken from my bank but for some reason they cancelled my order once the money was taken so I'm £20.10 out of pocket and no food never again would I go on this site.

Scampi's lacks the quality of say Shilingford's, and strays away from the classical chippy in many ways, however retains relative affordability, convenience, and a style of its own. The chips here are not the typical chip shop chips, they are smaller type chips- not fries, but a synthesis of fries and chip-shop chips. This means the chips have more surface area meaning that salt and vinegar seasonings are tasted more. However, it does make the chips greasy and many people prefer proper chips than the type Scampi's offers. Scampi's is in a very convenient location being next to Victoria Gardens Bus Stops and close to Alderman Davies school. Expect to wait in a queue, usually with noisy children, if you wish to order from here. The price for medium and large chips are as follows; £2.50 M, £3.00 L as of the publication of this review. These prices are basically the same as in others chip shops. The meal deals here are surprisingly reasonably priced for example a medium chips with a sausage and a sauce of your choice is £4.50. However, the chips and portions are smaller than in other places. I found prices related to fish also reasonable and the sausage and chips cone for £2 is good for those with children. In conclusion, Scampi's is a medium range chip shop, exclusively takeaway, that lacks quality in most of its food but is nonetheless favoured by some people for it's smaller chips and affordable prices. As far as chip shops go it is a dependable, but not praise-worthy, 3/5. Additionally, It's closing times are quite early so having chips with your friday pint is not an option sadly. For this 1 mark could be deducted as the questionable early closing times loses the establishment money and the customer liberty.
If you're looking for value for money avoid scampis chip shop. Just ordered a large chips and portion of curry sauce for me and my partner. Large is a bit of an overstatement especially when I got home and mos of the chips are stuck to the paper. Will never use them again.

New owners in this popular takeaway when we went in today. The owner acknowledged all customers, and offered options to meals. We ordered a fish and chip "Friday special" which we shared as we have small appetites. This consisted of a standard size cod, medium chips, and choice of mushy peas, gravy or curry sauce. We opted for the curry and were offered a choice of mild curry sauce or Irish curry sauce, which we chose. The fish was freshly cooked for each customer as was the battered sausage which we had chosen to add to our meal. The fish was perfectly cooked, white, flaky flesh with light crispy batter, not greasy at all. The chips were tasty. The curry sauce was very tasty. The sausage in batter was well cooked and not greasy. Very impressed with the new owners and most important it is one of the only places that the prices are NOT GOING UP. We paid £8.40 for our meal and it was plenty for the two of us Well done. Highly recommended and will be returning soon.

Recently been taken over by new owners and the quality has improved massively. Amazing new deals every week, the food is divine and Shane always has new recipes, what an amazing cook he is. My go to takeaway now no matter what.

They were amazing chips but it's so sad to see them closed down

Sorry the poorest chips ever. Went in for my daughter to have chips. They poured chips from the heater section into a wrapped take away. When she opened it it was just cold hard chips. Mostly the ones thrown away. Don't waste your money here.
