Near to burnt chips and hard and not that hot. Hard onion rings, the burger not the best either. Always had this but this is the worst ever. Was brought a fresh bowl of chips.??♂️??♂️

Huge Weatherspoons went in yesterday for a Breakfast. And Apple juice was nice freshing. Looks small from outside but bigger than you imagine. Great location parking on the road for free only hour though.

Called in on Fri 15/9/23 for a quick lunch, and I will say one of the best weatherspoons mixed grill ive ever had. Good, quick service. nice staff and cheap prices. What’s not to like. Fantastic.

Walked in and had really high expectations considering its a Weatherspoons it had an old pub feel. Breakfast arrived and it was the worst ever, had to send it back it was cold, never had to do this in a Weatherspoons. Needless to say was microwaved and returned as per the instructions of the manager who was not apologeticat all, still only lukewarm but just edible. We pass by this town often but will not be visiting The Black Boy again.

Here now for a spot of lunch. I don't mind waiting 40 minutes at all for food if the quality is good, but this was appaling. How can you not get a basic burger and chips right.

Nice pub in a lovely town.We stopped off for some food on our way to South Wales.The food was the usual Witherspoon's standard, which is fine. Service was excellent ?

My son ordered an alcoholic drink he is aged 22 and I paid on my card. The waitress delivered the drinks and my son said the alcoholic drink was for him and she refused to give it to him as he was under 25??? She then started to walk away with the alcoholic drink. I said are you going to refund me then. She said no so I said I would have it . I’m 52 ? she said I couldn’t have it because he said it was for him so I had to drink a whole pint in front of her ( I don’t usually drink and luckily not driving and I’m a woman not that that makes a difference) what a disgusting disgrace. Very embarrassing won’t be coming in again

Ordered a pint of Carling then when bought to table and no ID shown the waitress took the drink and slammed it onto the table in front of family.

It’s a really nice wetherspoon pub with a cozy and friendly environment. The food was delicious and the prices are amazingly affordable. 100% recommended to go with family, partner, friends or whoever you prefer. The staff was amazing, I felt like I was between friends!

Great to see a busy pub and cheap prices but when you consider portion size, I would have been better going over the road to the chippy. The size of this steak and kidney pudding is tiny (no I dont have a massive finger :-)), a token attempt at a good for nothing mash potato, extremely sad looking dehydrated peas and gravy from last Christmas's special. My wife went for the steak which clearly stated 1 mushroom which well was I guess a mushroom or had been at some time in its sad little life plus the 3 onion rings were forgotten so had to remind them.. When you only have 20 things (including chips) on a plate, I'm sure that you could ensure that you can remember 3 cold, tasteless and uninteresting onion rings too. Very disappointed -but on a positive note though, a good long walk to the toilets to walk off my food :-) The staff that served behind the bar and delivering the the table were perfectly lovely though.
