The best Welsh cakes!

K8130RIjonathand

We purchased two welsh cakes at 80 pence each from this shop, to have with a coffee on the front. I can only describe these two Welsh cakes as the very worst i have ever tasted, they were burned on one side and under done on the other which was the side displayed, sadly we walked to a hotel on the sea, purchased two fabulous coffees form a mobile van, where we were to consume our welsh cakes,!!!! im sure the sea gulls would have enjoyed them. make sure you look at the cakes before leaving the shop

Popped in today for the very first time (visiting from Bristol) and I was pleasantly surprised. I had the best pasty I ever tasted (chicken and chorizo). The custard slice was an amazing size and very tasty! I shall definitely be returning.

I purchased pasties ,Welsh cakes and 2 custard tarts today, the custard tarts were carefully packed in a nice bag, opened the bag to eat them when I got home, gone in the bin, paid for these but they were burnt on topAnd even burnt in the foil case,if I had picked them up off a shelf,I could understand, but a member of staff picked them from the counter, you may think burnt offerings is OK, but I do not !!! especially when I paid for them,I won't be buying from this shop again awful service !!!!

If there were 10 stars I would give them 10. Just visiting Porthcawl bought a vanilla slice and cream scone as I couldn’t make my mind up they both looked that good . So I cut them in half and we had a try of both ! Wow they were excellent best slice we have had in many a year . Please open a cafe !! we will certainly visit again when we’re in South Wales .

Looks nice and traditional. Asked for two hot pasties but they dont sell hot ones only cold ones which is very strange as it's a bakery but dont sell anything from the ovens.....seriously? Lol Obviously brought in from elsewhere and put in the counters. We went elsewhere as I've never heard of a bakers selling only cold pies and pasties before.

Something needs to be said regarding their bread slicing it’s an abortion . My wife requested a large white loaf sliced terrible don’t bother for £2.55 crap.

This was really disappointing as the shop is beautiful. Went here to buy some cakes, pas0trys, pies, sausage roll, bread and ham. Found the staff to be a little rude to be honest. It was as if yheh didn't like us because we wasn't Welsh. There where a lot of rolling of eyes. The ham and bread was excellent. The pies were all cold and no option to reheat. When we re heated the sausage roll it was so dry. The cornish pasty was average but the sweet pastrys and cake was inedible. The sweet pastrys tasted dry and stale. Will not re visit.

Absolutely love this deli/ bakery! I regularly visit for a selection of delicious, authentic cakes, especially when we have friends and family visiting... the Italian pastries are a favourite in our house! Pasties and sausage rolls are delicious too. And the deli counter of meats and cheeses are fabulous. The condiments and dry goods make excellent treats or gifts. Oh, and we'll had a most delicious fresh turkey last Christmas too! Thank you to the whole team for making this a great local business.

Swift visit, excellent service and superb quality, as usual. Very friendly. And a bit of glam serving, can't beat it.

Purposely walked past Gregg's as I believe strongly in giving to a local business. Went Into the shop to be told the pasties are cold so I asked could she microwave them for me, her reply was no we don't do that sorry, there is a Gregg's down the road you could try. Disappointed as the pasties aren't cheap would expect them to be warm. Never mind! Welsh cakes were delicious though.

Came across this place on a Monday afternoon , saw the welshckes and went in. However, when I went in I was looking at their cakes etc and there were flies crawlin over nearly everything. Yuk! Not want a customer wants too see. I understand the warm weather brings flies but you are a business and should put appropriate things in place to stop this e.g plastic covers on your cookies. Sliding doors on your fridges . Sorry
