So. I noticed on website closes at 5pm on a sunday. I telephoned them to book for 5pm. I was informed that thete is no booking but if i arrived at 4.30 then i would be served. I arrived st 4.30 and was told only drinks available as they have been quiet... Is it anyvwinder with this level of service.. Absolutely appalling in my book!!

Friendly welcome and quite a few people in for a Sunday evening. It turned out to be a quick drink when loud music was suddenly turned on and blared through the bar. We were the second last table to leave. Not sure why they did it; it cleared the bar.

What an atmosphere the staff create in this locally run bar and cafe. The staff create a happy buzzing at atmosphere whether the bar is full with everyone watching the Rugby World Cup or taking part in a Bavarian Oktoberfest evening, or even on a quiet mid week evening. Each time we visited in the last week we had a lovely welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the buzz - and we’re in our youthful 60’s.

Ok but could triple their bar takings if they had more than the one bar staff been run ragged trying to do cocktails, coffee , beer! Thankful the draught beetle barrels didn’t need changing . Owners get a grip and triple your takings , goes without saying we will be going ‘ across the road ‘ the rest of the week.

Difficult to rate atmosphere when there's only the two of us in there on a wet, windy, off season afternoon, but the young man serving was very pleasant, the pot of tea was the best I've had in my week's holiday on the island, my wife's coffee was good, as was the carrot cake, and I was impressed that the young man cut a thin slice off before cutting my portion obviously ensuring that I didn't get a dry piece.

Hot chocolate was cold she did try to heat it up but wasn't much better, food was tasty but again it was cold. But the girl that served us was very polite and she tried.

Popped in for a beer and coffee and cake on a beautul sunny day. Everything was lovely.
Visited for coffee with my elderly parents, after ordering I was totally ignored until my order was placed in front of me on the bar. For the price I paid I expected to have 3 hot coffees not 3 lukewarm ones. I did raise the point but I was just given a look of disgust. I will not be visiting again which is a shame because it is in a great spot to sit and watch the world go by

Live music nights are excellent. Cocktails are great and at a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit when music is on.

The burgers here are most excellent, the cheesy fries delicious as is the crisp, on draft, Brooklyn lager. Dogs are made very welcome too.

Ordered coffee, a pint of beer and two double burgers.Coffee arrived with no saucer or spoon or offer of sugar. Didn’t say anything - I don’t take sugar thankfully.Burgers arrived and chef said he’d bring cutlery / sauce etc. Didn’t return. I asked the female behind the bar for some sauce and she seemed a bit perturbed that I was requesting something. I’d not commented on the lack of cutlery / napkins and the coffee presentation - other customers had saucers / spoons etc and no they hadn’t run out, I could see them behind the bar!Just felt like the female bar staff didn’t want to be there and couldn’t be bothered, but when a young male friend turned up she perked up with him. I’m always polite and chatty but felt like we’d have been better returning to the Surfers cafe as much more welcoming.Food ok but shame that the atmosphere and basics like cutlery were forgotten. Shame as it could have been a lovely experience. Wouldn’t return.
Great place to visit for a cocktail or
