Visited two weeks ago was pleased to find a dog friendly pub with food. Food was very good. First afternoon all was fine. Second afternoon service was very poor. Had to ask for a steak knife, staff were too busy chatting to each other, playing with balloons to see if all was ok and if we needed anything else drinks etc. I had to go to find staff member to ask for the bill. Had lunch yesterday. Glad to say standards are back. It was lovely. My husband gave the pasta dish 10 out of 10. The bit of pastry on top of steak pie was odd but the meal was delicious
Went to try the new ‘Light Bite Menu’ available from 12-5pm Monday-Friday £8.50 Mains £4 Starters. Great idea and yes the portion size is smaller (not for everyone) but enough for us and meant we had room for their lovely desserts ??. I tried the ham (thick piece it was really tasty) and eggs and chips. Also lots of meat in the steak and ale pie ??.
