Popped in for a light lunch. Established clean and welcoming. Service was professional. Food was very tasty and great quality.

We are regular Saturday morning customers to Cafe R, and were particularly pleased with the visit this morning. We were greeted on arrival by the manageress, who advised us that because they had a large party of 50 people for breakfast, she had taken the liberty of reserving a table for us so we did not miss out. We had not asked for this, nor were we aware of it until we arrived. This is customer service which one sees very rarely these days and not only was it appreciated, but the manageress is to be commended for it.

Very nice little cafe in amongst a few shops. Plenty of free parking too. Good menu but limited choice. The food is great, cafe is busy so be prepared to have a little wait.

Always a great place to stop. Excellent selection and quality of food and good service. They even let me recharge my ebike battery!

Been here a few times but for some reason always forget to take a ? ?Atmosphere is nice with a mix of elderly, parents with babies or local working lunches etc.We only had the soup today which was okay but did need a little seasoning!Staff are very friendly & helpful & I only noticed today that they serve be too!!Very convenient if you're attending one of the craft centres in the complex or somewhere else in town.

Really nice cafe in the craft centre in Ruthin. Price was decent, just over £40 for the four of us with loads of food and drinks. It's dog friendly which is nice. The coffee and hot chocolate is Costa which I like and the food all feels like it's good stuff, not cheap and cheerful - I would expect typically to pay more for what we got and enjoyed here.Plenty on the menu for adults and children - I had the full breakfast and would definitely have it again.Staff were all really pleasant and there was loads of parking outside. Was a little busy but also had outside seating - way to cold to use that today but would be fantastic in the summer.Kid-friendliness: Kids were welcomed and the menu catered from them we'll. Had WiFi for free so helped with their iPads.Parking: Loads of free parking just outside the craft centre.Dietary restrictions: My wife had soya milk with her tea - no probs blem at all. They were also accomodating with requests with the food.

I arranged a catch for a colleagues retirement. About 20 people turned up. The staff were amazing and so helpful as I’m sure we caused chaos ordering coffees and cakes. The cakes were delicious. The atmosphere is so welcoming. The service was perfect. A few of us brought dogs. Who all received fuss. Definitely recommend coming here ❤️

Cafe R is always of a decent standard and the food is generally good. The specials and soups are always good. They can be a little understaffed at weekends, so service is not brisk and drinks can take a while to come out.\\n\\nIt is still the best cafe in Ruthin by a mile.

On our way back from a walk we decided to go to cafe R. Last time we went they had just reopened and the visit was not a positive experience. This time was different. The roast dinner my husband had was "excellent",my Welsh rarebit lacked taste (maybe it needed stronger cheese, more mustard or beer) but the salad and chutney were back to the usual high standard. The staff were all very good, with smiles and really pleasant. It's really good to be able to take our dog in and best of all the tiffin in Ruthin is the best but there was NO tiffin and that's a big shame. Thank you.

Had lunch here this week . First visit since makeover except for a long winded sit outside last year for Costa drinks which was very disappointing. Things were better this time and the decor is cosier than it was although it seems an extravagant use of council money to refurbish what was perfectly ok. Anyway the Welsh Rarebit was good although a stingy portion for the price! Ham & chips went down well . The passion cake was disappointing… over sweet butter cream.

Lovely cafe, great food and service, might need a mortgage to get a coffee there though

This little gem of a restaurant is hidden in the Ruthin art complex that boasts regular installations from respected Welsh artists. Come for the galleries....stay for the deliciously inviting Cafe R. Ostensibly a family run coffee shop, complete with homemade cakes and Costa coffee, it's also a restaurant. Serving homemade locally sourced gorgeous food, they have a license as well, so I regularly have a glass of wine with my food. The menu is regularly added to and it's a sunny and welcoming space. But a big part of my loyalty to Cafe R is definitely the staff. The team genuinely seem to enjoy their time at work, and are as quirky as the coffee shop/exclusive restaurant mix. Ruthin is lucky in its choice of upscale cafes and eating choices. There are a few gems. Personally I've found the mix of classy cooked-from-fresh food, sunny high ceilinged restaurant and warm friendly staff irresistible. Ten out of ten.

Good little café in the crafts centre with bright, lofty, spacious feel. Smart modern decor. I had the mushrooms, poached egg and asparagus with a hot chocolate and it was all tasty.
