Popped in for drinks and the smell was terrible. They have a clear issue with the drains. The pub appeared to be quite tired. There are far better pubs in the vicinity to spend your time and money.

Well what can I say….Maxine and the crew were fantastic. I felt welcome from the minute I walked in. The staff were attentive and friendly and made me feel like one of the locals. I was impressed with the menu and opted for the pie. As a part time chef I consider myself a bit of a pie snob and I can tell you it did not disappoint. Can’t recommend this place enough, I’ll definitely be back.

We contacted the landlord Maxine to help us to co-host our sons birthday party along with a gaming van we had hired with another company, and she was so accommodating, friendly and helpful from start to finish. Her and the staff went the extra mile on the day, bringing out jugs of juice for the kids throughout, prioritising our party and checking we had everything we needed. We specially requested pizzas and nuggets and chips for the kids party food - which they promptly said was no problem at all even though these weren’t included on their main menu - and the food was served bang on the time we requested - really good portions too! All the kids and parents commented on how good the party was and what a lovely atmosphere it was, and the beer garden at the back is a fab size and really nicely done out too so with the nice weather we spent a lot of time out there! We even tried to leave a tip as we were leaving but Maxine refused to accept it - which was obviously really kind but we felt bad about it as the service was amazing! Anyone wanting to arrange an event I would absolutely recommend the Crown & Liver, really lovely local and such a friendly warming atmosphere! Loads of evening entertainment too that we need to get back and enjoy without the kids!

Great food, fast service highly recommended.Parking: Parking is free but limited to spaces given the size, however parking is available a few yards down in the local Coop store.Wheelchair accessibility: Access for wheelchair and all are welcome.

Just had a cheese and bacon burger on the Thursday burger night menu. Absolutely gorgeous, best burger I've had in ages. Well done... bring on more food! ??

Called in here recently whilst visiting family, as we moved away some years ago. We were made to feel very unwelcome. The older lady with the blonde hair who was half attempting to serve us, whilst clearly flirting with an older gentleman stood next to us, was rather unprofessional and clearly not what you expect when you are trying to place an order. We were later informed that it was the new landlady! The venue was extremely busy and the live band, was so loud that you couldn't hear yourself or others chatting. Furthermore, family who had visited the mens toilets, overheard a drug deal taking place. Not what you expect, from what was once a great local pub.

This is a great pub. The staff and community of people who go there are so friendly. Every time I’ve been there whether it be for the quiz nights with mates, watching footy or listening a decent local band I’ve had a great time Would 100% recommend
Normally would recommend this pub as a local casual pub for drinks but the new staff members are rude and very sarcastic. Me and my friend come for a few drinks and catch up and attempted to order two pornstar martinis as these were on the drinks menu. When asking for this we were told “erm no.” We found this extremely off putting and rude coming from a staff member. We weren’t given any alternatives either. Disappointing from our local. She had dark hair and was a bigger lady.

Came in for a few drinks on Friday I stopped going to this pub when a few years ago as had too many bad experiences with the staff and owner But I’ve finally had time to go since the new management have taken over Well this is finally my local again The team were supper friendly and nice to see that the landlady got stuck in with everything behind the bar it was a really busy night with an amazing atmosphere There was never a long wait to be served the team absolutely smashed it and where always on the bar ready to serve 5* thank you Maxine for making this pub great again
