This may just be the best dining experience I have had in a long time, offering both great food to the service.This small restaurant is just a hidden gem, tucked away in the back street of Sketty.As soon as we entered the building, we were greeted by the chefs. Which was such a pleasure, which made us feel very welcome and set the evening up nicely.Service was impeccable, with 1 really friendly hostess who knew everything about the dishes and really looked after us throughout the night, and as the restaurant only has 5 to 6 tables, the need for another waitress is redundant and would take away from the experience the 1 hostess brings.It took us about 2.5 hours for the 6 course taster menu and honestly it was nice not to feel rushed for once in a restaurant, as I feel lately most restaurants just want you out as soon as you sit down ... I have seen some reviews saying 2.5 hours is a long time, however I think it is the perfect amount of time for an evening meal, no matter how many courses ... and when the food being served is so technical and not packeted portions like other popular and favoured restaurants around, waiting a little longer is really not something you should be moaning about.On a more merry note, the food was well presented and simply tasted out of this world with so many different textures and flavours. You could see how much passion and effort has been put into each dish and can easily see why this restaurant has achieved a Michelin Star!Lastly, we have to mention the price and ask the question: Is it worth it? ... Oh yes, most definitely, and I know for a fact I will be returning. Thank you Slice for such a lovely evening!Parking: Found a little difficult to park, but after 6.00pm, most of the street parking is unrestricted.There used to be a large car park close by. However, this has now been taken over by construction and can no longer use it.

The sort of place you want to tell everyone about, but don’t want anyone to know, so that you can still get a table. Superb restaurant that isn’t in any way pretentious. From the chefs’ welcome on arrival to the final mouthful, you can’t fault the service or the food. The ingredients are top quality, seasonal and the dishes imaginative. Wine pairing is an excellent option and then available from the local wine merchant. Can’t recommend enough. But don’t tell anyone. ;)

Scallops, venison, pork, monkfish and chocolate what more could you want! For me, Slice is the best restaurant in this part of WalesThis was my third time at Slice and it was amazing as always. The tasting menu was incredible - the highlights were the cod with langoustines, barbequed beef and the chocolate marquise! The wine pairing and the service were excellent too - thank you so much! A small note: the dining room tends to get quite loud and it would really benefit from some acoustic panels.

The food was superb, excellent - so was the service. However the restaurant itself is so small and full of hard surfaces (no carpet or wall coverings or tablecloths ) that when you are unfortunate enought to be seated next to a party of 6 disrespectful, raucous 30+ somethings with 3 non stop cackling females, your whole evening is ruined and you leave early with a headache. Eventually the restaurant manager had a word with them, but by then too late, the magic was spoiled. We left pleased with the food, but unhappy with the experience. Not the restaurant's fault you say, but the restaurant owns the space.
6 course tasting menu was a proper meal. Plenty to eat but full of class. Brilliant flavours. Star dishes were beef main and rice pudding souffle.

Slice is like a proper bistro - nothing pretentious with all the emphasis on the (amazing) food. Adam was great at front of house - as he’s also responsible for the food he was enthusiastic and gave great explanations about the food. It was a memorable night and we’ll be back soon. Price for the tasting menu was exceptional value - on a par with Michelin places we have eaten at for half the price. For the first time in ages I didn’t take pictures as I was too. Busy enjoying the meal - highly recommended ?Vegetarian options: Chris and Adam will cater for any requirements if notified in advance.
