“We arrived slightly early before our booking no problem for them at all , we were given a table upstairs but was too hot for me going through the ladies overheating time of life... we were then kindly given a table downstairs near the door in which I was immensely grateful with no fuss from the restaurant at all. The waiting staff were so helpful efficient and polite. The food was excellent, tasty , hot and generous portions. Jon our waiter was so efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend it. “We had a lovely weekend away at this quiet and peaceful shephards hut. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. Paul was an excellent and attentive host.

We also had a 6 course meal, which was not only a delicious meal, but a lovely experience as well. We were aloud to walk around the garden between courses. Overall it was a unique, personal and lovely experience.”

“Had a fabulous Sunday lunch, very generous portion sizes, with ten different vegetables. Good selection of desserts, something for everyone. Sunday lunch is served the first Sunday every month and is all cooked by the amazing landlady Jess. I recommend booking in advance, we booked in for next month when we paid as it was that good. We will be back soon to try the Indian food. Thanks Jess for a lovely afternoon and your wonderful hospitality xx”

However, the real stars of the show, in my opinion, are the scones. They are simply fantastic – light, fresh, and utterly delicious. Paired with generous portions of proper butter, they make for an indulgent and truly memorable treat. It's the kind of simple pleasure done exceptionally well that makes all the difference.
