After a walk around Powys Castle and into Welshpool through the deer park, we fancied a light snack for lunch. Didn't want chain food so went into Coco and were really pleased with our choice. Both went for the delicious pork and Shropshire blue sausage roll served hot. It came with a proper salad (leaves, cucumber, tomatoes and peppers with balsamic dressing) , so many larger establishments think that a salad is just dressed leaves! We have been coming to Coco’s for a few years, the staff are friendly, food lovely and it’s a pleasant environment. I always used to enjoy the strong coffee served there but lately it seems milky and tasteless, almost as if the milk has been boiled. Perhaps since the refurbishment the machines have been changed. It doesn’t taste like barista coffee.

I’m so pleased we found Coco today. We almost stopped at Costa or Greggs, but we’re much happier to support a local business. We were not disappointed! Service with a smile as soon as we entered, nothing was too much trouble. The sausage rolls and Welsh rarebit were very tasty, and the homemade cakes are delicious. Highly recommend.
