What a super find! We arrived in campervan, 2 adults and dog on a very wet evening to a very warm welcome. A real locals pub. Honest food and beer. Made welcome by all. A truely lovely evening. Thank you. Jan, Andy and Pip ?

We used to love this pub always having lunch there after a walk in the Heart of England Forest. Then they cut their hours drastically, only serving food at the weekends. We thought we would try them after a long absence. So disappointing and I won't visit again - maybe for a drink in the summer, that's all. It was a very cold day, the day of our visit so you would think there would some form of heating. Nothing. The few people eating lunch were sitting in their coats. The radiators weren't on. The wood burner wasn't on. There was some kind of large and ugly electric fire - we asked for it to be switched on but the heat was negligible. As for the food, well, of course everything has risen in price so £9 for a panini and chips. The fillings were completely tasteless. Cheapest possible fish finger and not much of that and I say "finger" here. Brie, again tasteless, I suspect a very cheap variety. Salad garnish - well, not even a slice of tomato but a tiniest sliver of tomato. This pub can do better. I don't know if it has changed hands.

A real down-to-earth pub with camping facilities. Live music during summer months, great place to sit in the sun and have a

Not good, very cold inside pub and didn't start well when served a pot of tea with luke warm water. Food wasn't the best either, tasteless chicken curry with rice swimming in water overcooked fish and four which should be hot desserts, apple crumble, jam sponge, sticky toffee puddings all served stone cold with just hot custard. All returned. Haven't been here for many years when it had a very good reputation but won't hurry back unfortunately.

Great Sunday lunch, the lamb just fell off the bone, very tasty. Would recommend. Nice location in the country with friendly staff.

Dani was incredibly kind and helpful when we went to the pub needing advice on a nearby hotel when we were stranded.

I actually stayed at the campsite behind the pub. Facilities were average, 1 tiny mens shower and toilet onsite, same in place for women too. Did eat in the pub one night, food reasonably priced and tasted good.

Camped here for 4 nights, lot of space to set up tents or camper vans, there is a pub on site too and lovely footpaths leading to local villages. Only thing that let us down slightly were the toilets running out of toilet paper frequently.

Was like walking into a western film set, when you walk in the whole place goes quiet like who’s going to draw first, we arranged to collect some food on the too good to go app, this is clearly a local pub for local people and I felt a little uncomfortable anyway I collected my order and left the cottage of contempt, sorry but the food was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life, I complaint to Too good to go provided pics and got a full refund, sure after 20 or so years of getting to know the locals you’ll be fine but there are much better places to try locally.
