The meals were cooked to perfection and the flavour was amazing. Ordered a couple of meals with extra sides. Struggled to eat it all as the portions are very generous.

50 Birmingham Rd, AlcesterOrdered from here for the first time as won some money off in a raffle they kindly donated too but normally they are a little out the way for us.
However saying that we may be going out of our way more frequently! Food was lovely and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Although we didnt eat in the atmosphere in the restaurant seemed relaxed and inviting so may try eating in next time!

26 High St, AlcesterA beautiful, little, comfortable bistro cafe in Alcester in the central town area near to St Nicholas Church, the ? Bear Hotel and the Shakespeare Hospice Charity shop. The Baby Guinness ?Shot was strong & tasty and the Classic Mojito ?Mocktail was refreshingly acidic & salty. On this day, we didn't eat just had some Pringle snacks with our drinks (while we waited for the Alcester Male Voice Choir event to start at Grieg Hall).

The food was good! It was tasty and the portions were huge. Good value for money!
Have to recommend the nachos!
The guy serving us was nice too!

Arden Rd, AlcesterSaw this cafe at last minute while driving past. Decided to stop and so pleased we did. Bacon sausage & egg bap £4.50. Was amazing. Plenty on it and wrapped in foil. Would definitely recommend if you’re passing ??

Arrow, AlcesterLovely setting, with plenty of grounds and dog friendly walks nearby.
Sunday roast chicken was very nice, crispy potatoes and succulent chicken. The Crispy Beef Salad was also really good... and the Minced Lamb Pie went down well.. all round a good meal, at a reasonable price.
We really enjoy the atmosphere in these pubs, and often use them for stops when travelling... so dog friendly too.

The Ghurkas simply does amazingly wonderful Asian cooking full of flavour and low on added oils that are so often used at other restaurants. I wouldn’t contemplate going for a meal at any other Asian restaurant in the area.

The Holly Bush
37 Henley St, AlcesterSince Red & his wife took over this fine pub a year ago it has got better & better. Music that makes you want to stay & with a decent beer selection. The guest ale is always something to go for of course. The locals are back with a fine age spread from 18 to 80+. The welcome is as warm as the log burner. Life has been breathed into this fine old building & its soul has returned too. When Red & his family are taking a step back from their great front of house work then the other bar staff make you feel just as at home. When the weather allows then head to the sheltered garden too. The previous tenants almost killed the place so ignore reviews from 2021 & before. The Holly Bush is back !!!!!!! Use it ??

3 Swan St, AlcesterI ordered a Chinese food today to celebrate New Year's Eve with my family, the lady was very considerate and used a good thermal bag to keep the food warm. My family was very satisfied with the taste of the food and will use it again. recommend.

The Twisted Boot
AlcesterI had been camping in Coughton fields and decided to take a walk along the road to get some exercise. I came across this pub and although I felt hungover cane in for a bit of lunch and a cup of tea. The place was empty but a barmaid soon appeared and apologised, taking my order. The food didn’t take very long and tasted amazing. Difficult to get a vice as I was the only one in there at a strange time, but I will probably go back next year.

The Cottage of Content
15 Welford Rd, Barton, AlcesterSpent 2 days camping in February!! The campsite was very wet so we moved to the car park, the landlord couldn’t have been any more helpful, even provided electric hook up away from the pitches. Excellent location, fantastic food and a great landlord and landlady. Ronnie the dog was fantastic. Will definitely return.

Alcester Fish Bar
Kinwarton Rd, AlcesterThis is a great chippy! We recently moved to Wilmcote and have been trying to find a good local chippy, this fish bar has become our favourite. I have cod, my partner has chicken kebab on a pitta and we share chips, portions are good and the kebab is always loaded with meat. Only pain is sometimes they leave the chips wrapped up on the counter by the open door while they prep the kebab meaning after that and our drive home the chips aren’t as hot as I’d like, but to be fair I think I will just ask them to do the chips last next time.

The Alcester Inn
THE ALCESTER INN, St Faith's Rd, AlcesterWas flying out from Birmingham airport(first time) wanted to stay in the area as I don’t like driving long distance to the airport on the same day I’m flying . Won’t lie was chosen simply because it was the cheapest and nicest looking cheap hotel for one night .
VERY glad we did choose it , relatively easy to get too and roughly 30min from the airport .
Got there 8’ish booked in , it’s in the middle of a housing estate and looks like a 70’s community pub (you know the kind that looks almost like community centre) young lass who was working the bar booked us in very friendly and helpful , got to the room found it was a bit run thin in places but absolutely spotlessly clean with really good quality linen , bathroom had a bit of a musty smell but I think that’s due to the extraction fan not doing much . After a really good nights kip on a very comfortable bed we had breakfast quality and portion size was spot on and again nice attentive(but not overpowering) staff serving breakfast .
My impression(could be wrong but running with it till proven wrong)was someone had realised just because they weren’t running a ‘high end hotel’ doesn’t mean they could or should cut corners and took real pride in their business .
Would I stay there again ? Most definitely ! Would I recommend it ? Again most yes definitely .

Ordered cod and chips and another portion of chips.
Really delicious. Sad about the poor reviews from other people but we were really impressed. Staff were really friendly too. Would definitely recommend ?

Worst thing about this joint is the number and size of the potholes in the car park - they are huge - please fix ASAP!!
