This place is definitely not closed. We went for Sunday lunch and the food was lovely, the service professional and quick, and the restaurant was warm and welcoming. I had read some of the reviews and was expecting something average but it was way better than expected and I’ll definitely go back.

Surprised at the bad reviews - I wonder if these were teething problems. Had a pleasant meal with my partner food was quality and good value. Service was great. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I was a bit worried having seen the reviews but I had no issues at all. Will be back

Arrived here with my partner for a meal as heard they have recently reopened with new management. I can honestly say we had a lovely experience, The food was amazing, one of the best steaks I have had in a long time and my partner had the fish and fished every last bit! Adam and the team couldn't do enough for us. I will certainly be back to try the roasts!!

Myself and my family visted the Boat inn for a family sunday lunch after hearing it had been taken over by new Management. The food was amazing and everything was cooked perfectly, all of our family said how much they thoroughly enjoyed their meals. the general manager who i believe his name was adam and his staff were really welcoming and friendly and the service was very attentive, I would Definitely recommend to anyone looking to book for a Sunday lunch or family meal and I look forward to returning in the future. You

Do not bother. Went there knowing it’s usually lovely however since new management was awful. Arrived to a sticky dirty table which we had to request to be cleaned. Ordered the food and the waiter plonked it down causing gravy and stuffing to fall into my lap and onto my clothes. Briefly apologized with a ‘oh sorry’ but really did not care. Did not offer me a new stuffing so I had to eat the stuffing that I had retrieved from my lap - which was in fact raw in the middle. The vegetables were plain boiled veg which could have been done better by a child, the roast potatoes had clearly been reheated and the parsnips were hard. Albeit the meat and Yorkshire puddings were good but it was such a poor meal. Also noticed Female staff in and out the kitchen with long hair down which makes me doubt hygiene. The Boat Inn always used to be exceptional but now I will not return.

Lovely atmosphere, very nicely decorated for christmas. 5 people ate dinner the mushroom pasta (sorry forget what it was) but it was really tasty apparently. Fish and chips were lovely. The burgers well……… The lamb burger was the best they had tasted, and the boat burger was great, the chips were lovely as well.

We visited for Sunday lunch having previously loved it. On arrival it was obvious that it was under new management. There was a large que at the bar and staff seemed very inexperienced. Food was ok but nothing like it had been under the previous management. Would not recommend or return. A shame as it was brilliant a couple of months back.

Lovely site next to the canal. Good food and atmosphere. Dog friendly. Pleasant staff and good service.

We drove past whilst looking for a place to eat, so glad we turned around and stopped here. Staff are super friendly and the food is amazing. Make sure you are hungry as the portions are a good size. We went in the evening and sat inside but the outdoor space looked like it would be a nice spot for a drink as it overlooks the canal. We will definitely be going back, would recommend!

Our friends anniversary bought a bottle of Bollinger. We had our meal sat outside on terrace.. Food was exceptional and service was fabulous. Great setting right next to the canal clue in the name.. Go and sample their food and service its a must.

Good location for the Stockton flight. Now has a nice new garden patio area for outside dining, well shielded. On the higher price side for pub food. Lunch was good.

What a find! Lovely location and both inside and outside spaces are lovely. Food was a little expensive BUT was absolutely delicious. Will definitely go back and hopefully weather permitting get to use the outside bar.Kid-friendliness: Very fri3ndly to the children. Also has a children's play area in the garden.

The food here has been consistently good each time I've visited. Good variety to choose from.

Quality staff, quality food. Had to get dessert twice as the donuts were just so good.
