Ate here prior to a concert at the Benn Hall. The food was good and the service was excellent. Other diners were a bit boisterous, so it wouldn't have made for a nice romantic meal out?. Couple of real ales available, well served.

We visited late on a Thursday afternoon. It was fairly quiet, but it felt like the atmosphere would be quite relaxed at most times of the week. Staff on entry and throughout our visit were friendly and attentive. We ordered some food and drink. We had beef lasagne and cajun chicken. Both very fresh and cooked perfectly but underseasoned and some items quite bland. Still good value overall. Arrived at the Courthouse without a booking, but the staff managed to fit us in. This was a Sunday lunch and most tables were reserved. We ordered the Sunday roast and was very pleased with it. Pub roasts can be hit or miss, this was certainly a hit, and plenty of it. The gravy was exceptional as was the cauliflower cheese. A great find for us and a big thank you to all the staff members for looking after us. It is a big pub, but does get busy.
