My partner & I were staying at Owl Cottage on 26 Jan to 28th for a short break and decided to book a table. I have to say, how impressed I was with the warm welcome we received from all the staff and especially the manager Matt who took time to come and chat with us. We thought that was so nice, seeing as we were not locals to the area and may not visit that neck of the woods again. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. I would just like to thank Matt for his kind hospitality and really hope we do have an opportunity to return. We would highly recommend you eat here, you will not be disappointed. P.S. Seriously Good Fish and Chips. After a busy day we decided rather than cook or get a takeaway that we would walk down to the King’s Head. I don’t normally order Fish and Chips but I’m very pleased I did. Fresh Cod, great batter and chips, served with a portion of mushy peas.

We booked for a group birthday meal and I'm glad we did as it was busy, even the first Saturday after Christmas! There were only two staff serving drinks and food, so as it got busier at lunchtime service time did slow. But the service itself was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating; we brought a cake with us and they were great organising it to come out at the right time. Food was just what we wanted, not a massive menu but good range and tasty food too. Plenty of veggie and vegan choices for the amount of menu items and they adjusted as we needed too.We will be back for a meal in the futureVegetarian options: A fair choice for the size of the menu, portions were a good size tooKid-friendliness: A small but well priced menu, my son enjoyed his chicken goujons and chips and beans. They had colouring and pencils and were very accommodating to him being there and whether he was comfortable

Stopped in today for a quick spot of lunch. One Hot Pizza and one Napton Buffalo burger and they were both absolutely delicious. Little wonder we have struggled to get a table previously! Good service from a friendly team.Looking forward to our next visit.

This is a really great pub to meet friends and eat some fantastic food. We are a group of friends who have been meeting up for over 20 years, and once a year we have a blowout meal. The food I ate was just delicious, really lovely flavours and cleverly combined. The beetroot and sweet potato warm salad was just incredible, one of my favourite things I've eaten in a while. Only pipped to the post by the beetroot and goat's cheese salad in the summer - I still dream about that! The staff are great, friendly and welcoming and looked after us so well. I have to say that we've eaten there several times and I have never had a bad meal or a bad experience there.
