Booked the Xmas festive menu for 13 people. It’s my local, but I have to say…..wow! Sophie, and the team on the night were just so attentive, courteous and professional. The food was really well presented, hot and tasty. Given that some had starters, some didn’t, likewise with desserts, the courses were served in a very timely way. So well organised despite the mayhem of everyone having a really good time. Great pub, great food, great atmosphere, great team of staff, great village. Nothing else to say really.

Sunday roast beef was sinewy, the vegetable's were raw, potatoes were frozen I should think and deep fat fried, wrong menu's given on entry, had to ask for condiments.. horseradish was Def not good..had pudding as was given a soup spoon to eat it with, coffee was served just before the deserts came . All in all very disappointed..?

Visited for Sunday lunch as in the area camping. The Peacock was busy and it was a good job we had booked although it didn’t affect the service and quality of the food. Portions were great and the food was great. Staff were very friendly. The only let down was the shortage of beef. However the lamb shank was devine. Hope to visit again when in the area.

I went camping with my friends for a long weekend, on our last night we decided to go out for somewhere to eat. The closets place to go was the peacock in oxhill, we had a lovely walk through the public paths to the pub. This pub was a very lovely pub, it had great atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and welcoming, the place was very warm and cosey, Me and my friends then ordered food and it was amazing for our starter we had a camembert sharing starter, this was amazing and it fed all 5 of us and they gave us extra bread which was really nice, I then had the haddock and chips . let me tell you the chips was amazing they was these gorgiuse crunchy thick cut chips which tasted like heaven it was the best i have ever tatsed. To the point I can't stop thinking about them they was just too good, the hadock was really good aswell and then for my dessert i had the hot brownie with icecream, this was amazing aswell, if you are ever in oxhill or near oxhill I would recommend this pub complety for drinks and food and one day i will hopefully be able to return to ordef rom them again.

What a great surprise, had planned to visit Farnborough Hall (National Trust - great) and was looking for somewhere for a light lunch nearby (The Peacock is less than 10 mins away). Small cosy Bar and larger Dining Area. A warm welcome and smile from the young Barlady (and waitress). We shared three starters and a very decent bottle of Pino Grigio. 26.50 The three starters Bruchetta, Sliced courgette, Olive Oil, raita - gourgeous, fresh flavours 6.95 Hummus & harissa roasted carrots pomegranate & hazelnut dukka spice, flatbread - wonderful textures and flavours 7.95 and Lamb koftas toasted flatbread, cucumber & mint tzatzik 9.95 - very flavoursome and quite spicy All were beautifully presented and yummy - were we tempted to repeat them all again - yes - did we NO! More than enough for a light lunch For anyone reading this who has heard of Otelenghi in London - these starters were very much in this style. I would say, even better. Prices are not cheap BUT Quality exceptionally high Visit and enjoy
